AERIAL ANTICS YOUTH CIRCUS  THIS WEEKEND – The City of Vero Beach Recreation Department will present ‘Cirque de L’ amour’, the 42nd Annual Aerial Antics Youth Circus on August 4, 5 and 6 at Saint Edward’s School (1895 Saint Edward’s Drive) begiinning at 7 pm.  This years’ LOVE theme will combine gymnastics, dance and circus aerial routines with popular love songs.  The LOVE theme allows for music from every genre over many decades for every age group to enjoy.  The Aerial Antics Youth Circus performers range in age from 3 – 31.  The 3 – 5 year olds are always a crowd favorite and the more experienced performers are breathtaking on the aerial apparatus (silks, Spanish web, trapeze, cloud, hoop, etc.).  The male performers will amaze with their strength and gymnastics ability. Tickets are available at Leisure Square and Riverside Racquet Complex. THURSDAY, AUGUST 4

SUMMERFEST  CONCERT ON THURSDAY – Symphony of the Americas presents 25th Anniversary Summerfest Concert 2016. Hosted by the Cultural Council of Indian River County, the concert will be held at 7:30 pm on Thursday, August 4 at Christ by the Sea United Methodist Church.  The Summerfest Chamber Orchestra will feature musicians and soloists who have participated in this Festival over the past 25 years, including from orchestras such as the Arpeggione Chamber Orchestra of Austria, the Mission Chamber Orchestra of Rome, Hungarian Virtuosi, Italy’s I Musici and more, representing more than 10 different countries – performing several styles of classical and popular music for strings, all joined in cultural exchange by principal musicians of the Symphony of the Americas.  Reservations include a post performance reception for the musicians.  For reservations, ($35), visit cultural-council.org/Summerfest.html or call 772-770-4857.

Dogs for Life has been chosen to participate n Mulligan’s 12 Weeks of Summer! Donate to Dogs For Life while eating and having fun!!  10% of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to DFL on the following dates:

Thursday, August 4th from 5-8 pm (Local Hero Night – Come dressed as your favorite local hero – doctor policemen, firefighter, or ?)  and on 

Thursday, August 11th from 5-8pm (Puppy Love Night – Come dressed as your favorite doggy!) Mr. Spongie will come for a visit each night with Balloons and free crafts for the kids! FIRST FRIDAY GALLERY STROLL – Stroll along 14th Avenue from 5 to 8 pm  on Friday, August  5th to view the new exhibits at downtown galleries.  Here’s a preview:

Gallery 14 is exhibiting works by Gallery 14 owner-artists and represented artists, as well as selected works by photographer Greg Hills. 

Main Street Vero Beach presents guest artist Holly Wray displaying her stained glass lamps (at left).  These unique pieces have designs inspired by the lamp base she uses. Many of these lamp bases have been picked up at thrift shops, flea markets and garage sales.

The Artists Guild Gallery features a wide variety of styles and media by gallery artists

Tiger Lily Gallery & Studios features the work of Julia Carter, Cristina Abizaid, Shotsi Lajoie, Travis Blanton, Sharon Sexton and Glenda Taylor.

BALLET VERO BEACH PRESENTS CONTEMPORARY DANCE AT RIVERSIDE THEATRE – Ballet Vero Beach presents the Wylliams/Henry Contemporary Dance Company on  Friday & Saturday, August 5th & 6th at 8 pm  at Riverside Theatre. HOWL AT THE MOON THIS WEEKEND – Riverside Theatre presents  Howl at The Moon Experience,   a high-energy music show on Friday & Saturday, August 5 & 6.  Musicians Ken Gustafson and  Daniel Deal will  perform favorite songs from 80’s rock, 90’s pop, and today’s dance hits on dueling pianos with shows at 7:30 and 9:30 pm.   Free live music featuring The Bobby Owen Band (rock, blues, country) on Friday and Beartoe (rock, blues) on Saturday will play the Live In The Loop Outdoor Stage prior to each performance.  Buy tickets ($16, $18, $20, $22)  by calling the Box Office at 772-231-6990.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 6 – The Education Foundation of Indian River County in partnership with Riverside Theatre will present a FREE, fun-filled family event, RT Star’s Back To School Party, on Saturday, August 6 th from 10am to 2pm at Riverside Theatre.  With hands-on activities, live performances, face painting, a bounce house, and entertaining contests, this community-wide event will also feature back to school information from Administrators and Directors from the School District of Indian River County.

SEA TO SHINING SEA AT QUILTED GIRAFFE – Theatre-Go-Round Dinner Theatre continues it’s performance of “From Sea to Shining Sea” on Sundays, August 7 and August 21 at the Quilted Giraffe, 500 S. US 1 In Vero Beach.  With rave reviews, this show will take the audience across the U.S. with songs celebrating our cities and states.
