Flametree Clay Art Gallery, 2041 14th Avenue in Vero Beach is featuring Floral Containers including vases, Ikebana containers, clipping starters and wall pockets through August.    Gallery hours are Thursday through Saturday from noon to 5 pm.

Judy Burgarella presents a collection of portraits in oil and acrylic on view at the Indian River County Courthouse, 2000 16th Avenue from August 19 to October 5.  Judy teaches portraiture at the Vero Beach Museum of Art and Mixed media painting at the Sebastian River Art Club.  View the exhibit from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday – Friday.   Exhibits at the Indian River County Courthouse are a benefit of membership with the Cultural Council of Indian River County.

Author and counselor, Nina Dockery will be leading a Meditation class at Radiance by Misty Dawn, 805 Sebastian Blvd., Suite 3 in Sebastian.  Sessions will be held on Tuesday nights from 7 to 8 pm. HOWL AT THE MOON THIS WEEKEND – Riverside Theatre presents Howl at The Moon Experience. a high-energy music show on Friday & Saturday, August 19 & 20. Come sing, dance, and howl as the most talented musicians perform your favorite rock, pop, and dance hits from the 80’s, 90’s, and today. This weekend’s entertainers are Ken Gustafson  and Rob Volpe  with shows at 7:30 and 9:30 pm.  Local musicians will perform on the  Live in the Loop outdoor stage between Howl performances with Live Bait (Variety & Surfer Rock) on Friday  and Mighty Flea Circus (Rockabilly) on Saturday.  Howl tickets are $22, $20, $18, $16.  The outdoor concert is free.  Visit RiversideTheatre.com.

TEEN WRITERS WORKSHOP ON SATURDAY

The Laura Riding Jackson Foundation will host Dr. Michael Finnegan who will present a Teen Writers Workshop: How to Write a Killer College Essay on Saturday, August 20, from 1 to 4 p.m., in the Lagoon Room of the Environmental Learning Center. FROM SEA TO SHINING SEA AT QUILTED GIRAFFE – Theatre-Go-Round Dinner Theatre continues it’s performance of “From Sea to Shining Sea” on Sunday, August 21 at the Quilted Giraffe, 500 S. US 1 In Vero Beach.  With rave reviews, this show will take the audience across the U.S. with songs celebrating our cities and states. The Sunrise Theatre in Fort Pierce will screen a free movie on Sunday, August 21 at 3 pm.  Bring a friend, escape the summer heat, treat yourself to some goodies at the full concession stand and have a great time!  The movie on Sunday is Hope Springs, starring Meryl Streep, Tommy Lee Jones and Steve Carrell.  Tickets are available in person only at the theatre’s box office located at 117 South Second Street, Ft. Unity Spiritual Center of Vero Beach, 950 43rd Avenue, presents Charley Thweatt,  with a concert & workshop, “Here Between Heaven,” on Sunday, August 21 from Noon to 2 pm.
