DAVE BARRY AT THE WAXLAX – As a part of the Saint Edwards School’s Speaker Series, Florida author Dave Barry will present his new book, “Best. State. Ever.  A Florida Man  Defends His Homeland,” on Thursday, September 8th at 7 pm at the Waxlax Center for the Performing Arts on the school’s campus.  Contact the Vero Beach Book Center to purchase an autographed copy of his book which will serve as your  admission ticket to the event.

 

The Treasure Coast Rock & Gem Society will hold an Open House for new & prospective members on Thursday, September 8 at 7 pm. The public is invited to see displays of fossils, rocks, minerals and a demonstration of cabling semi-precious stones. Refreshments will be served. The meeting will be held at the St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church, 475 43rd Avenue in Vero Beach.

TEEN WRITERS WORKSHOPS – The Laura Riding Jackson Foundation is offering two FREE Cambridge CAST Teen Writers Workshops in conjunction with the performance of “As You Like It”.  On Friday, September 9 from 1 to 2:30 pm at Sebastian River High School, Join LRJ Foundation for a memorable Shakespeare Acting Workshop with the world-renown Cambridge University American Stage Tour instructors and performers.  Learn from future stars! SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 10

The Oceanside Business Association presents “Sunset Saturday Night” on Ocean Drive at Humiston Park on Saturday, September 10th from 6:30 – 9:30 pm.  The featured band is Collins & Company playing  dance music from the 50’s to today. 80’s rock, Motown, R&B, 70s funk and more!  Food & drink will be available from local vendors.  Admission is free.  No coolers, please.

 

 

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 12
