Program 1 of Ballet Vero Beach’s 2018-2019 season alights at Riverside Theatre Friday August 3 at 8:00 pm and Saturday August 4 at 8:00 pm. Ballet Vero Beach, in partnership with Riverside Theatre, is thrilled to present CORE Dance in the company’s first ever visit to Vero Beach! Continuing in our pursuit to bring the best of dance to our own backyard, Ballet Vero Beach is thrilled to present CORE Dance to culminate the sixth annual Riverside Dance Festival. Performances from this Atlanta based troupe will showcase the company’s mission to use dance to illuminate, educate, and question. For the first time in the Riverside Dance Festival’s history, performances will feature one full evening length work, the recently premiered Memorial. Memory. Relationship. by D. Patton White.

Following the unexpected and untimely death of his brother Claiborne, White began the creative process for the work with several sources of inspiration: questioning the etymology of the term ‘memorial’; a recommended musical composition (the third movement of Ralph Vaugh Williams’ Symphony Number 5 in D Major), and the creative talents of the dance artists of Core Dance. Ballet Vero Beach and Riverside Theatre are thrilled to bring this moving and arresting work to Vero Beach.
