The 70’s and the 80’s marked a generational change for theater music. Space Coast Symphony Orchestra Conductor and Artistic Director, Aaron T. Collins explains more about 70’s & 80’s Broadway.
“The rock-vibe musicals were grittier than the earlier generation of musical theater –and much more modern in their storytelling,” said Collins. “At the same time, disco and funk were emerging and dominating the dance floor in a sexy expression of pure American joy.”
