news release
On Sunday, October 22, Treasure Coast Community Health (TCCH) hosts the 11th annual Great Duck Derby fundraiser. Join in from 12 pm to 4 pm at Capt Hirams Resort in Sebastian, FL.
This organization accomplishes effective community change for women and children in impoverished areas of the county. The Duck Derby turns as little as $5 into eye exams, flu shots, mental health therapy sessions, mammograms and cancer screenings. One hundred percent of proceeds benefit the 51% of TCCH patients living at or below the federal poverty level.
TCCH launches 7,500 rubber ducks into the Indian River Lagoon while the crowd cheers for their duck to cross the finish line. The three fastest swimmers earn $1,000, $500 or $250. The Derby also features a 50/50 raffle, specialty drink and live music. In honor of their 30-year anniversary, this year’s Derby features a $30,000 Lucky Duck Prize
Your duck adoption can help TCCH bridge the gap for patients like Helen, Maritza and a 4th grade student.
“If I had to pay for insulin, I would probably go without. I don’t think I’d be around if it wasn’t for TCCH and the pharmacy program.” — Helen
“TCCH saved my daughter’s life” — Maritza
“When I didn’t have my glasses, I would read half the sentence then go to the next. I would mess up. I can keep track with my glasses.” — 4th Grade Student Patient
