County seeks public input on future vision

news release

The Board of County Commissioners value public input and want to hear from residents and stakeholders about a vision for the future of Indian River County.

In follow-up to the meetings held last year to obtain input on the development of the Comprehensive Plan, these Community Workshops are designed to introduce the Comprehensive Plan Evaluation and Appraisal Update process and schedule, provide an overview of existing conditions, and learn about the needs and opportunities from community members.

The information gathered from these workshops will help the staff better understand the long-term community vision and goals for the future of Indian River County. The workshops will feature a series of informative and interactive activity stations where participants can engage at their own individual pace.

“We have created multiple opportunities for the public to engage because we genuinely care about their opinions,” said Christopher Balter, Chief of Long Range Planning.
For those individuals that are unable to attend one of the six workshops in person, four of the meetings are accessible by Zoom. The online survey portal will be open from November 16 – December 31, 2023 and accessible using the QR code in the graphic.

The Evaluation and Appraisal Report Comprehensive Plan Update is being developed by Indian River County staff and guided by a Kimley-Horn consulting team. Public engagement is a key component of the project and is fundamental to the plan’s implementation and success.
