The Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), staff, and community leaders gathered today at the new Indian River County Everside Health Center, located at 960 37th Place, Suite 101, Vero Beach, FL, 32960, for a formal Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.
The health & wellness clinic is a new partnership between the County and Everside Health to provide convenient access to a range of services for those enrolled in the County’s health insurance program. These services are at no cost to those enrolled and are also offered to
retirees and covered dependents above the age of two.
Services include; annual physical exams, chronic condition management, full-scope family medicine (ages 2 and up), mental health screenings, no cost on-site lab work, school and sports physicals, and sick and urgent care as well as prescription medications and over the counter medications.
The Health Center is staffed by a board-certified nurse practitioner, Cathy Porter, who moved to Florida in 2022. “I am excited to empower Indian River County employees to live their healthiest lives,” said Porter. Employee wellness is a direct benefit to the County, “reducing lost time due to absences, doctor appointment travel time, and increasing the support and wellness of our emergency service personnel who provide services to our citizenry,” said Joseph Earman, BOCC Chair.
The Everside Health Center will be open 5-days a week and employees have the option to schedule appointments 24/7 online. “We are excited for the positive impact our health center will have in supporting health and wellness for our employees and equally optimistic that this benefit will help us recruit the best of the best to Indian River County,” said Suzanne Boyll, Director, Human Resources Department.
