NOTE: This is unrelated to the shooting at Vero Lake Estates.

On March 12, 2024 at 2:43 pm, Fellsmere officers and IRCSO deputies were dispatched to investigate the report of a shooting that just occurred at 1027 Lincoln Street. Upon arrival, Fellsmere officers encountered an adult male victim in need of medical attention for multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Ft. Pierce.

 While the scene is secure and no residents are in danger, the 1000 block of Lincoln Street to the corner of Grant Avenue is an active crime scene and travelers in the area will have to divert to State Street.
