Aloha! Youth Guidance’s 47th Annual Tropical Night Luau has been rescheduled due to Hurricane Milton. The event will now take place Monday, November 11th, 2024, at the Quail Valley River Club from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Chef Joe Faria of Quail Valley River Club stands nearby as Nina (left, age 15) and Jahzara (right, age 15) prepare bite-sized tuna poke bowls for guests during cocktail hour.

As Youth Guidance celebrates over 50 years of enhancing the lives of children in Indian River County, the upcoming Tropical Night Luau promises to be an extraordinary event for all attendees. Guests will be welcomed with traditional Hawaiian leis, creating a festive atmosphere for a night filled with vibrant entertainment and meaningful connections. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Quail Valley River Club, the Luau will offer an open bar, a delectable tropical dinner, and an opportunity to meet the beneficiaries of Youth Guidance’s impactful mentoring programs.

The Luau’s highlights include a lively dance floor, a captivating auction boasting an array of items, and an exciting performance by Hiti Mahana Polynesia featuring a Siva Afi Fire Knife Spinning finale.

Proceeds from the Tropical Night Luau will directly impact the lives of more than 200 children and young adults (ages 6-24) who live in Indian River County and attend Youth Guidance every year.

The local nonprofit organization provides Indian River County youth access to critical life skills, academic enrichment, vocational training, and one-on-one mentoring. All programs are provided free of charge.

As guests arrive at the Tropical Night Luau, they will hear from children participating in Youth Guidance programs. These young learners will showcase their skills in various areas, including sewing, cooking, and a state-registered pre-apprenticeship program that provides training in five skilled trades: welding, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and electrical work.

Tickets and sponsorship for the Tropical Night Luau are still available. They can be purchased by visiting www.youthguidanceprogram.org or calling Director of Development, Jennifer Moore, at
