VBMA’s January 11 Free ‘Second Saturday’ features on Screen: Painting the Modern Garden: Monet to Matisse

Art enthusiasts who can’t wait for VBMA’s February 1 opening of the internationally touring French Moderns:  French Moderns: Monet to Matisse, 1850–1950 exhibition can explore the profound connection between art and nature through the lens of the world’s greatest artists in the film screening Exhibition on Screen—Painting the Modern Garden: Monet to Matisse, on view at 1:30 p.m. on January 11 in the Museum’s Leonhardt Auditorium.

Painting the Modern Garden takes viewers on a journey from renowned galleries to the enchanting gardens of artists such as Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, Camille Pissarro, and Henri Matisse. Admission to the Museum is free all day on January 11 and includes the film screening, gallery exploration, and Museum Studios activities for families from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
