Vero Beach Museum of Art – The Atrium offers Art By The Sea on 1/10 – 1/12, 10:00 AM
The 36th Annual Art By The Sea, a Prestigious Fine Art & Crafts Exhibition by members of the Vero Beach Art Club. One of the most anticipated shows of the Vero Beach Art Club’s season you won’t want to miss!

Environmental Learning Center offers Guided Nature Walk – Ansin Riverfront Conservation Area on 1/11, 9:00 AM. Join us on this easy one mile in-an-out hike that comprises beautiful mesic hammock and scrub habitat, adjacent to the Sebastian River. Giant swamp hickory, bromeliad laden oaks and Florida wild olive trees will shade our walk while we will also be talking about the different species of epiphytes (plants that grow primarily on the surface of trees) that are native to Florida and how they interact with their environment.  Specific meeting directions will be given after you register. Please bring water and mosquito spray.

Environmental Learning Center offers Broadway Babies on 1/11, 9:00AM Featuring Mommy-and-Me style musical theatre class for 0-4 years. Bop to the beat of Broadway Showtunes! We wear costumes, play instruments, do improv games with puppets, and of course, sing and dance!

Vero Beach Museum of Art offers Second Saturdays at VBMA on 1/11, 10:00 AM. The Vero Beach Museum of Art offers free admission every second Saturday of the month. Second Saturdays features a variety of cultural offerings, including the widely popular Museums Studios for families from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Complementary programming such as performances, lectures, films, and related expressions of arts and humanities will continue throughout the afternoon on select Saturdays.

First Presbyterian Galleries offers Artist Exhibition Opening on 1/12, 11:00 AM. OPENING ARTIST EXHIBITION: CHRISTIANE CASELLA Award winning national sculptor, Christiane Casella, will have classical figurative work in bronze and abstract and posable works in porcelain, ceramic and fiber in what promises to be an exciting exhibition. Come meet the artist on January 12th, 10am-1pm.

Laura (Riding) Jackson Historic Home & Garden offers Kids Write Outside on 1/12, 1:00PM
Children need to be outside observing and exploring the world around them.

We’ve built a new set of programming that promotes writing-readiness for ages 3-5 and writing skills for ages 6-11 and it all takes place OUTSIDE, in and around our Children’s Garden. Some will be multi-age while others will be specifically for preschoolers, early elementary, or later elementary.

Riverside Theatre offers Mystic Pizza through 1/26 – show times vary. Mystic Pizza is a new musical based on the 1988 rom-com from MGM and screenwriter Amy Holden Jones. Mystic Pizza tells the story of three working-class girls, who navigate the complexities of life, love, and family in a small-town pizza joint.

The infectious score features megahits of the 80s and 90s, from “Girls Just Want To Have Fun”; to “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now”; and songs originally recorded by Melissa Etheridge, Cyndi Lauper, John Cougar Mellencamp, Debbie Gibson, Wilson Phillips, The Bangles, Belinda Carlisle, Rick Astley, Bryan Adams, among many others.

Environmental Learning Center offers Ethnobotany Walk on 1/14/2025, 9:00 AM
Ethnobotany is the study of how people of a particular culture and region make use of native plants. Join our Native Plant Specialist, Marc Spiess, for a walking tour showcasing the diverse use of native and introduced plants, from culinary delights to medicinal wonders.

Laura Riding Jackson Foundation offers Historic Home Tours on 1/14, 1:00PM. Laura Riding Jackson’s historic home is open for tours from November through April each year. You can drop by on Tuesday’s or the second Sunday of each month 1pm-5pm and our amazing volunteer docents will give you a tour! We can accommodate groups of 8 or fewer as drop-ins; to bring a larger group for a tour, please reserve in advance.

Vero Beach Museum of Art offers VBMA Film Studies Program Series 3 – 1/14, 1:30PM. Film Series 3: January 7-February 4, 2025 Keeping it Real: Cinematic Tales Inspired by Real-Life Events or People. Participants can also stream the films from the comfort of their homes. Following the in-house screening, attendees can participate in a brief, optional “talk-back” session to share their thoughts and ask questions about the film with fellow attendees.

North Indian River County Library offers Adults: A Magic Show on 1/14, 6:00PM
A Magic Show for adults featuring the Amazing Stanley as the marvelous and masterful magician. Let your inner child free and allow yourself to be amazed by spectacular and delightful sleight of hand tricks! Free and no registration required to attend.

Art in Public Places Program sponsored by the Cultural Council of Indian River County in conjunction with Mandy and Ray Hooker invite you to a viewing at Indian River Distillery, 3308 Aviation Blvd. in Vero Beach.  Exhibit Theme: “Old Florida”. Label Competition on view through Feb 27. Featured Artists: Merana Cadorette, Ella Chabot, Elise Geary, Mary Ann Hall, Gwen McNenney, Darrell Remole, Joe Thomas & Mariya Yankovich. The winner of the label competition will be revealed at a special event on Feb. 26 at the Heritage Center.  Limited-edition signature bottles of vodka will be available for sale.

Join VBMA education staff and docents for an in-depth focus on select artworks from special exhibitions and the permanent collection. Registered participants will meet docents at the main entrance of the Museum and will move to the galleries as a group.

Environmental Learning Center offers Y-ELC Free Teen Program on 1/15, 4:00PM. Youth Environmental Leaders Corps (Y-ELC) is a program for teens in middle and high school who are interested in environmental education. Students will learn from experts and expand their leadership skills, conduct community service projects, and learn how to advocate for environmental health.

Vero Beach Art Club Gallery & Marketplace offers Veterans Art Classes on 1/16, 6:00PM
We are meeting monthly with local Veterans interested in learning how to paint, draw, and use art as a form of therapy. Ballet Vero Beach offers Seasons on 1/17, 7:30PM & 1/18, 2:00PM and 7:30PM
Our 12th season begins with a monumental program featuring works by George Balanchine and Christopher Wheeldon and the world premiere of Artistic Director Adam Schnell’s The Four Seasons. The company adds a third work by George Balanchine, the sparkling Glinka Pas De Trois, and a second work, the neoclassical and athletic duet from The American by Christopher Wheeldon, to our repertoire. Schnell’s take on The Four Seasons uses Vivaldi’s masterful score as a jumping-off point for a neoclassical romp decked out in art nouveau style.

Featured Artists include Ella Chabot, Tony Caruso, Darryl Remole, Pat Willis, Janet Grossarth. On view through March 13.

Riverside Theatre offers Playtime in the Park on 1/11 & 1/18, 11:00 AM. A FREE program for the community’s youngest audience members, Playtime in the Park will have dance and theatre offerings from our education programs on the Theatre’s outdoor Loop Stage. These offerings are ideal for kids 2-5, but entertaining for parents and the whole family, too! Dance is showcased at this performance.

AAUW Vero Beach offers Women’s Economic Security Forum on 1/18, 11:00AM at the Richardson Center at Indian River State College’s Vero Beach Campus. Women’s economic security is a significant issue for our time, on many levels, including educational opportunities, job and salary negotiation, balancing family and professional demands – and the financial impact of the choices we make from the options available to us.

Environmental Learning Center offers Little Wonders on 1/18, 9:00AM & 10:30AM
Little Wonders is an engaging outdoor nature enrichment and early literacy program for children 18 months to 4 years old. Participate in Nature Story Time, Outdoor Mud Kitchen, and Interactive Sing-a-longs.

Sebastian Riverfront Fine Arts & Music Festival 1/18 & 1/19. Sat 10-5 & Sun 10-4. The Sebastian Riverfront Fine Art & Music Festival is held in Sebastian’s beautiful Riverview Park. The festival celebrates local and regional artists, musicians, and performers. The festival showcases a variety of fine art, including paintings, sculptures, photography, and crafts, along with live music performances spanning multiple genres.

Center for Spiritual Care offers Tied, Dyed, Woven & Stitched 2025. The is an exhibition of local artists who will be displaying their fabric, fiber and wood art work.  On exhibit through 1/31. 

Environmental Learning Center offers Tai Chi & Balance on 1/13, 8:00AM. Join Chris Brenner, retired Naval Officer/High School Educator, and graduate of the Tai Ji Quan Instructor Training program, as he guides you through this traditional practice of Tai Chi.
