Art in Public Places Program sponsored by the Cultural Council of Indian River County on exhibit Indian River County Intergenerational Recreation Center. Primal Forces: Fire, Artist Members Exhibit on view through May 1. Artists Merana Cadorette, Tony Caruso, Ella Chabot, Viktor Genel & Mark Wygonik.

Riverside Theatre offers Mystic Pizza 1/7 through 1/26 – show times vary. Mystic Pizza is a new musical based on the 1988 rom-com from MGM and screenwriter Amy Holden Jones. Mystic Pizza tells the story of three working-class girls, who navigate the complexities of life, love, and family in a small-town pizza joint. The infectious score features megahits of the 80s and 90s, from “Girls Just Want To Have Fun”; to “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now”; and songs originally recorded by Melissa Etheridge, Cyndi Lauper, John Cougar Mellencamp, Debbie Gibson, Wilson Phillips, The Bangles, Belinda Carlisle, Rick Astley, Bryan Adams, among many others.

Environmental Learning Center offers Chair Yoga with Elise on 1/22, 1:30pm. Join Elise Mahovlich for a gentler, more accessible form of yoga that’s done while sitting or using a chair for balance. Move into poses like cat/cow, warrior, sun salutations and forward folds.

Vero Beach Museum of Art offers Museum Stories for 0-24 Months on 1/22, 9:30am. A theme-based, participatory program for babies, toddlers, and their caregivers that includes reading books, singing songs, dancing, and creating art together.

Environmental Learning Center offers Yoga with Annie Padnuk on 1/14, 1pm
Join Annie Astley Padnuk as she guides you through the ancient practice of yoga. Practicing Yoga not only helps with flexibility and muscle tone, it also helps improve cognitive skills such as learning and memory.

Ballet Vero Beach offers Seasons on 1/18, 2pm & 7:30pm
Our 12th season begins with a monumental program featuring works by George Balanchine and Christopher Wheeldon and the world premiere of Artistic Director Adam Schnell’s The Four Seasons. The company adds a third work by George Balanchine, the sparkling Glinka Pas De Trois, and a second work, the neoclassical and athletic duet from The American by Christopher Wheeldon, to our repertoire. Schnell’s take on The Four Seasons uses Vivaldi’s masterful score as a jumping-off point for a neoclassical romp decked out in art nouveau style.

Riverside Theatre offers Playtime in the Park on 1/18, 11am. A FREE program for the community’s youngest audience members, Playtime in the Park will have dance and theatre offerings from our education programs on the Theatre’s outdoor Loop Stage. These offerings are ideal for kids 2-5, but entertaining for parents and the whole family, too! Dance is showcased at this performance.

Environmental Learning Center offers Little Wonders on 1/18, 9am & 10:30am
Little Wonders is an engaging outdoor nature enrichment and early literacy program for children 18 months to 4 years old. Participate in Nature Story Time, Outdoor Mud Kitchen, and Interactive Sing-a-longs.

Sebastian Riverfront Fine Arts & Music Festival 1/18 & 1/19. Sat 10-5 & Sun 10-4. The Sebastian Riverfront Fine Art & Music Festival is held in Sebastian’s beautiful Riverview Park. The festival celebrates local and regional artists, musicians, and performers. The festival showcases a variety of fine art, including paintings, sculptures, photography, and crafts, along with live music performances spanning multiple genres.

 Vero Beach Art Club offers Art in the Park on 1/19, 10am
Fine Art & Crafts Exhibit located at Humiston Park on Ocean Drive in Vero Beach. Art in the Park provides the perfect opportunity for visitors and residents to interact with our Artists and Craft Artisans and to purchase beautiful, original artwork.

Ballet Vero Beach offers The Four Seasons on 1/19, 2pm at the VBHS Performing Arts Center
Ballet Vero Beach is thrilled to offer our Accessible Series and Family Friendly Series again this season. These extra special hour-long performances are specifically geared to the needs of the differently abled individuals of our community and also young children. Performances may include modified audio/visual effects and venue setup that meets the needs of all attendees. Performances may include Q&A sessions.

Vero Beach Museum of Art and Atlantic Classical Orchestra offer Chamber Music Series on 1/19, 3pm. The 17th season of the Vero Beach Museum of Art and the Atlantic Classical Orchestra’s celebrated partnership begins in January 2025. You will not want to miss this intimate gathering in the Leonhardt Auditorium. Tickets include admission to the galleries, so come early to take in the exhibitions.

Center for Spiritual Care offers Tied, Dyed, Woven & Stitched 2025. The is an exhibition of local artists who will be displaying their fabric, fiber and wood art work.  On exhibit through 1/31.

Riverside Theatre offers Distinguished Lecturer Series- Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on 1/20, 4pm & 6pm.  Celebrating its 27th season in 2025, the Distinguished Lecturer Series at Riverside Theatre is Vero Beach’s longest, continuously-running lecture series.

Gifford Youth Orchestra offers Vocal Recital on 1/21, 6pm at the Gifford Community Center.

Art in Public Places Program sponsored by the Cultural Council of Indian River County in conjunction with Mandy and Ray Hooker invite you to a viewing at Indian River Distillery, 3308 Aviation Blvd. in Vero Beach.  Exhibit Theme: “Old Florida”. Label Competition on view through Feb 27. Featured Artists: Merana Cadorette, Ella Chabot, Elise Geary, Mary Ann Hall, Gwen McNenney, Darrell Remole, Joe Thomas & Mariya Yankovich. The winner of the label competition will be revealed at a special event on Feb. 26 at the Heritage Center.  Limited-edition signature bottles of vodka will be available for sale.

Environmental Learning Center offers Beginners’ Bird Walk on 1/21, 7:45am
Learn identification techniques, the best time of day for birding, and start your bird life list! Guests should meet at the Environmental Learning Center Welcome Center by 7:45am for an 8am departure and lasts approximately 90 minutes. Please bring water in a reusable bottle, sun protection, bug repellant, and binoculars. Guests may also choose to bring their preferred ID book and life list record. Sturdy shoes are recommended.

Laura (Riding) Jackson Historic Home & Garden offers Historic Home Tours on 1/21, 1pm
Laura Riding Jackson’s historic home is open for tours from November through April each year. You can drop by on Tuesday’s or the second Sunday of each month 1pm-5pm and our amazing volunteer docents will give you a tour! We can accommodate groups of 8 or fewer as drop-ins; to bring a larger group for a tour, please reserve in advance.

Vero Beach Museum of Art offers VBMA Film Studies Program Series 3 on 1/21, 1:30pm
Film Series 3: January 7-February 4, 2025.
Keeping it Real: Cinematic Tales Inspired by Real-Life Events or People. Film Studies Instructor Diane Thelen will introduce the films, which will be screened in the Museum’s Leonhardt Auditorium. Participants can also stream the films from the comfort of their homes. Following the in-house screening, attendees can participate in a brief, optional “talk-back” session to share their thoughts and ask questions about the film with fellow attendees.

North County Indian River Library offers Tom MacLear Musical Performance on 1/22, 6pm. Award-winning Songwriter-Poet Tom MacLear will be celebrating the ten-year anniversary of his highly acclaimed book of poetry titled: Inside a String. Tom is a new resident to Sebastian, but not to the world of music with 40 years of on the road Rock and Roll experience.

Laura Riding Jackson Foundation offers An Evening with Dave Barry – Main Event on 1/23, 6:30pm at the Community Church of Vero Beach.  Laugh ‘til your sides hurt! Dave will entertain us with an informal interview moderated by our Executive Director, Sara Wilson and will also take questions from the audience. Everyone is invited to a post-event book signing. Bring your own book or buy Dave’s books on site.

Live from Vero Beach offers The New York Bee Gees on 1/23, 7pm at the Emerson Center.

Vero Beach Museum of Art offers Cork, Canvas & Company on 1/23, 6:30pm.  “Rainbow Dreamscape” Spend an evening with friends in the VBMA Art School studios! Instructors Barry Shapiro and Camy De Mario lead participants step-by-step as they complete original artworks. Art materials are provided, and participants can bring their own beverages and snacks. No experience is necessary!

McKee Botanical Garden offers Sean Kenney’s Nature Pop!® Made with LEGO® bricks Exhibition from January 24 through May 4. Featuring 40 sculptures made with over 800,000 LEGO Bricks and explores the beauty of nature through contemporary, stylized, and colorful displays that stand in striking contrast with their surroundings.

Environmental Learning Center offers Lagoonapalooza! On 1/25, 10am.  An exciting new twist to our Nature Fest (fka EcoFest then LagoonFest), now with live bands at our Event Pavilion and in a cooler month! Join us for this free event that features dozens of environmental partners with tons of hands-on activities, food, pontoon or kayak trips, visits to the aquarium and touch tank, dip netting in the pond, plus some of the areas best musical groups performing throughout the day.
