Ballet Vero Beach presents: LATINES

arts & entertainment

Ballet Vero Beach is thrilled to present Latines, a program featuring three world premieres inspired by the choreographer’s unique Latin heritage.

Yanis Eric Pikieris, a founding member and artist in residence of Dimensions Dance Theatre of Miami, presents his second work for the company. Set to an original composition by dancer and rising Cuban composer Gabriel Aguilar, Before Sunrise is a series of vignettes for two couples that evoke feelings of longing, loss, and resolution.

Long-time company collaborator (and former Ballet Vero Beach Dancer) Chloé Watson uses memories of family dinners with her grandfather as the jumping-off point for her contribution to the mix. Set to Ms. Watson’s grandfather’s favorite music by Louis Prima, Herb Alpert, Tony Bennett, the Gipsy Kings, and more, the ballet is a heartfelt celebration of family and culture.

Of course, Ballet Vero Beach could not miss the opportunity to add an exciting world premiere by Ballet Master and Principal Dancer Camilo A. Rodriguez, who uses a musical composition by Erik Satie to illuminate the human experience through dance.

Full performances are slated for 7:30 p.m. on March 14 and 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on March 15 at the VBHS Performing Arts Center. Tickets range from $10 to $85.

The company’s Accessible/Family Friendly Series performance is on March 16 at 2:00 p.m., also at the VBHS Performing Arts Center. This performance will feature the transformative production of Firebird, a one-hour ballet perfect for the whole family. The production will include modified audio and visual effects and increased accessible seating and sections for those who might not be able to remain seated throughout the performance.

Ballet Vero Beach is thrilled to be the only arts organization in the area to offer a fully Accessible/Family Friendly Series that offers professional-level arts experiences to underserved segments of our community. All tickets for the Accessible/Family Friendly Series are subsidized at $10, thanks to the generosity of Ballet Vero Beach’s many funders and donors.

Watch At Home archival film access will be available for this program. Student Rush tickets are available at the door for $10 by providing a valid student ID.

All tickets can be found at balletverobeach.org or by calling the company at 772-269-1065.
