In August 2024, Alayna, a 13-year-old girl faced the sudden, and bewildering onset of severe tics, marking the beginning of a challenging odyssey through, various medical consultations that left her and her family seeking answers.
Unwilling to “just, live with it, ” they pursued holistic care, which revealed a series of underlying health conditions, including Lyme disease with co-infections, heavy metal toxicity, and mold toxicity., Amidst these trials, Alayna discovered that her passion for art was not only a source of solace but, also an effective form of therapy. Her symptoms nearly vanish when she is engaged in the, creative process, underscoring the transformative power of art in her healing journey. This, discovery was nurtured by her inspiring art teacher, Camy De Mario of the Vero Beach Art Club, who played a pivotal role in Alayna channeling her talents into writing and illustrating her first, children’s book., When Alayna is not immersed in her art, she finds peace and inspiration by the ocean, surrounded by the sea life that fuels her creativity. Her debut children’s book beautifully, encapsulates these themes, inviting young readers to find joy and strength in their own lives, especially those who may face similar challenges. Alayna hopes that her story and artwork will inspire others and spark a wave of positivity and healing. “I want kids to know they’re not alone in their challenges,” says Alayna.
“Art and creativity have been my lifeline, and I hope it can be theirs, too.” Join Alayna in celebrating the release of her first children’s book at a special book signing event, on Friday, April 4, from 5-8 PM at the Vero Beach Art Club, Vero, Beach, FL 32962.
