Arts, entertainment and fun in Vero Beach, Sebastian and Indian River County as compiled by the Cultural Council of Indian River County for Mar. 29 – Apr. 5.

Art in Public Places Program sponsored by the Cultural Council of Indian River County in conjunction with Mandy and Ray Hooker invite you to a viewing at Indian River Distillery, 3308 Aviation Blvd. in Vero Beach.  Exhibit Theme: “Old Florida” on view through May 29.  Featured Artists include Judy Burgarella, Merana Cadorette and Mary Carter.

Environmental Center offers Reveal the Writer in You: A Hands-On Workshop on Mar. 29, 12 p.m. If you’ve ever wanted to explore the art of storytelling, enhance your writing skills, and gain expert insights, mark your calendar. This engaging Lunch and Learn Writing Workshop is led by accomplished writer and editor Cricket Freeman. Open to participants from high school level and up.

Riverside Theatre offers Live in the Loop – Riverside Theatre’s FREE outdoor music venue with local musicians playing Thurs., Fri. and Sat. evenings at 5:30 p.m. Mar. 29- Chemistry; Apr. 3 – Blue Sky Jazz Band; Apr. 4 – Sleepin’ Dogs; Apr. 5 – Blunatics.

Christ by the Sea United Methodist Church offers Piano Quintet Chamber Concert on Mar. 30, 3:30 p.m. Violinists Henry Hutchinson and Matt Stott, violist Viera Borisova, cellist Ana Ruth Bermudez, and pianist Marcos Flores once again will captivate our audience with beautiful, spicy and uplifting chamber music. Enjoy this exquisite international string quartet joining forces with the majestic concert grand piano for a truly memorable musical experience.

Art in Public Places Program sponsored by the Cultural Council of Indian River County on exhibit Indian River County Administration Buildings A and B. “Welcome to My World” is the theme. Featured Artists include Ella Chabot, Tony Caruso, Judy Burgarella, John McAleer. On view through June 19.

Center for Spiritual Care offers Jill Kerwick: New Works on exhibit through Mar. 31.  The Jill Kerwick: New Works exhibit is back by popular demand and on view during the month of March.

Riverside Theatre offers Distinguished Lecturer Series on Mar. 31, 4 p.m. & 6 p.m. Speaker: Bari Weiss She is the founder and editor of The Free Press and host of the podcast Honestly. From 2017 to 2020 Weiss was an opinion writer and editor at The New York Times. Before that, she was an op-ed and book review editor at The Wall Street Journal and a senior editor at Tablet Magazine.

Vero Beach Museum of Art offers French Moderns: Monet to Matisse, 1850-1950 on view through June 22.  This winter, the internationally touring French Moderns: Monet to Matisse, 1850-1950, makes its first-ever stop in southeast Florida at the Vero Beach Museum of Art. The exhibition showcases 59 artworks from the Brooklyn Museum’s esteemed collection of European art, spanning the era between the Revolution of 1848 and the conclusion of World War II-a period marked by significant social, intellectual, and political upheaval in France.  The exhibition highlights the avant-garde movements that shaped modern art in the 19th and 20th centuries, featuring works by renowned artists native to France, as well as those who studied and exhibited there.

Laura Riding Jackson Foundation offers Historic Home Tours on Apr. 1, 1 p.m. Laura Riding Jackson’s historic home is open for tours. You can drop by and our amazing volunteer docents will give you a tour! We can accommodate groups of 8 or fewer as drop-ins; to bring a larger group for a tour, please reserve in advance.

Riverside Theatre offers Every Brilliant Thing Mar. 25 through Apr. 13, show times vary.  A boy’s handwritten list to cheer up his despondent mom becomes a surprisingly funny and poignant ode to humanity. Based on true and untrue stories, Duncan MacMillan’s Every Brilliant Thing takes audiences on a sublime and tender coming-of-age journey that reminds us to pay attention to life’s smallest joys— and to each other.

McKee Botanical Garden offers Sean Kenney’s Nature Pop!® Made with LEGO® bricks Exhibition on view through 5/4. Featuring 40 sculptures made with over 800,000 LEGO; Bricks and explores the beauty of nature through contemporary, stylized, and colorful displays that stand in striking contrast with their surroundings.

Vero Beach Museum of Art offers Timeless: Robert Farber’s Fashion Photography.  Exhibition runs through 8/31.  Robert Farber’s professional practice spans commercial and fine art photography, with subject matter ranging from fashion and portraits to still life and landscapes. The works featured in Timeless are drawn from two major bodies of work: his Vintage Fashion series, captured during commercial shoots, and the Deterioration series, which consists of prints from his earlier fashion photography.

Live in Vero Beach offers Beginnings – A Celebration of the Music of Chicago on Apr. 4, 7 p.m. at the Emerson Center in Vero Beach.

Center for Spiritual Care offers Ceramics Invitational Opening Reception on Apr. 4, 5 p.m. Opening reception for 6 talented local artists who display their beautiful ceramics. The artists include: Walford Campbell, Sean & Sharon Sexton, Maria Sparsis, Ginnie Peach Street and Glenda Taylor.

Sunrise Rotary offers 2nd Annual Treasure Coast Spirits Festival on Apr. 5, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Airport Drive in Vero Beach. Sunrise The event will include a “meet and taste” with up to 30+ of Florida’s BEST craft distillers, mouthwatering appetizers, cigar lounge, bottle sales, and more! Come and enjoy a great day outdoors with your friends tasting some of Florida’s BEST distilled libations!

Art in Public Places Program sponsored by the Cultural Council of Indian River County is on exhibit at the Indian River County Courthouse, 2000 16th Avenue, Vero Beach through May 8. Deutilization Conceptualism: The Evolution of Meaning Beyond Function is a solo art exhibit by Viktor Genel.
