Art in Public Places Program sponsored by the Cultural Council of Indian River County in conjunction with Mandy and Ray Hooker invite you to a viewing at Indian River Distillery, 3308 Aviation Blvd. in Vero Beach. Exhibit Theme: “Old Florida” on view through May 29. Featured Artists include Judy Burgarella, Merana Cadorette and Mary Carter.
North Indian River County Library offers French Conversation Classes on May 17, 1:30 p.m. This is an informal meeting for French speakers of all levels to practice and enhance their conversational abilities. Please note, this is not for beginners, but rather an opportunity for those with prior French language experience to connect and converse. No registration required to attend. Free.
Vero Beach Museum of Art offers French Moderns: Monet to Matisse, 1850-1950 on view through June 22. This winter, the internationally touring French Moderns: Monet to Matisse, 1850-1950, makes its first-ever stop in southeast Florida at the Vero Beach Museum of Art.
The exhibition showcases 59 artworks from the Brooklyn Museum’s esteemed collection of European art, spanning the era between the Revolution of 1848 and the conclusion of World War II-a period marked by significant social, intellectual, and political upheaval in France. The exhibition highlights the avant-garde movements that shaped modern art in the 19th and 20th centuries, featuring works by renowned artists native to France, as well as those who studied and exhibited there.

Art in Public Places Program sponsored by the Cultural Council of Indian River County is on exhibit at the Indian River County Courthouse, 2000 16th Avenue, Vero Beach and extended through August 7. Deutilization Conceptualism: The Evolution of Meaning Beyond Function is a solo art exhibit by Viktor Genel.
Environmental Learning Center offers Free Performance of Godspell Jr. by the Riverside Theatre Youth on May 18, 2 p.m. Riverside Theatre’s talented Youth Ensemble will bring Godspell Jr. to life with a free outdoor performance on the ELC campus at our Education and Event Pavilion. This family-friendly show (great for ages 2-5) is filled with energy, heart, and powerful messages and it’s the perfect way to enjoy live theater surrounded by nature. Admission to the ELC is completely free from 1 PM – 4 PM so come early and stay after to explore our trails, boardwalks, and hands-on exhibits. Bring your lawn chairs, your curiosity, and your love for the arts.

Environmental Learning Center offers Dementia 101 on May 21, 12 p.m. Join Susan Micheel from the CERTUS Institute for an informative and interactive one-hour presentation on the basics of dementia. Learn what dementia is, how it progresses, and discover the lifestyle medicine strategies being used to help prevent it. This session is perfect for anyone looking to better understand cognitive health and take practical steps toward prevention.

Art at the Emerson Center offers The Indian River Lagoon By Brush and Lens through June 4, 2025. An Earth Day-inspired exhibition showcasing the natural beauty and ecological significance of the Indian River Lagoon through art and photography.
Riverside Theatre offers Comedy Zone on May 23 and May 24, 6 p.m. Riverside’s showcase of professional comedians touring the comedy circuit takes the Waxlax Stage. Comedians: Tim Boyd and Kate Brindle.
Vero Beach Museum of Art offers Timeless: Robert Farber’s Fashion Photography. Exhibition runs through 8/31. Robert Farber’s professional practice spans commercial and fine art photography, with subject matter ranging from fashion and portraits to still life and landscapes. The works featured in Timeless are drawn from two major bodies of work: his Vintage Fashion series, captured during commercial shoots, and the Deterioration series, which consists of prints from his earlier fashion photography.
Vero Beach Art Club offers Summer Splash Member Art Exhibit runs through June 22. Come by and see this fun Member show. At the same time, artist and artisan members of the Art Club fill the adjoining Marketplace space with wares for purchase.
