AAUW-VB launches 2025-26 season with discussion of life’s ‘Fourth Quarter’

For almost every phase of life, there are plenty of resources to help us navigate: guidance for getting through high school; preparing for college, a wedding or childbirth; rearing toddlers or managing teens: You can find information in myriad books, magazines, newspapers, and podcasts.

When it comes to the later stages of our lives, perhaps not so much. And what little we do find may or may not be accurate, depending on the source. Knowing what to expect and preparing effectively may help us have a happier, healthier “Fourth Quarter.”

Tana Wagner

At a speaker luncheon on Saturday, October 18, Tana Wagner, RN with VNA Community Health Services, and Candi Alexander, LCSW and VNA Director of Social Services, will speak about managing the onset of physical and emotional changes that occur as we enter the season that could be called the “fourth quarter” of our lives. What’s normal vs. what may need some expert attention. How to manage our expectations of ourselves and our loved ones. And, most important, how can we be the best version of ourselves at any age.

Candi Alexander

Discussion of the “Fourth Quarter” is sponsored by the American Association of University Women (AAUW-Vero Beach) and begins at 11:30am Saturday, October 18, at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2555 58th Ave., Vero Beach. Cost is $25. Go to AAUWverobeach.org to register and pay online. Reservation deadline is Oct. 13.

AAUW-Vero Beach is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. All funds raised go toward scholarships for women and girls in Indian River County.
