The Vero Beach Art Club recently donated $1700 for Indian River School District art teachers for supplies. Each teacher in the county got a check for $100 to help offset the costs of supplies. Arts for Smarts program was started in the 1980’s when school budgets were cut.
The program funds come from donations at the January Art By the Sea Fine Art Show held at the Vero Beach Museum of Art and the Under the Oaks Fine Art Show in Riverside Park each March.
