Arts, entertainment and fun in Vero Beach, Sebastian and Indian River County as compiled by the Cultural Council of Indian River County for Oct. 25 to Nov. 1

Environmental Learning Center offers Walking Meditation on October 26 at 1:00 p.m. Walking meditation is a ‘meditation in motion,’ great for beginners and seasoned meditators alike.  If our daily lives are defined by ‘going to’ or ‘coming from,’ a walking meditation is a practice of mindfulness and being present in the moment.

The Community Church presents ‘Tricks & Treats’ A Masquerade Concert of Voice & Piano with Soprano Rachel Carter Murphy and pianist Jacob Craig on October 26 at 3:00 p.m. in the Grace Chapel.

Gallery 14 presents The Secret Journey-Abstract Realms: Paintings by Ilene Gruber Adams.  The show is in celebration of the opening of their 18th season on 14th Avenue in the Downtown Arts District and will run through Oct 31.

Center for Spiritual Care offers Visio Divina (Divine Seeing/Soulful Seeing) at 11:00 a.m. on October 27. Join Lori Ferrell to engage this sacred way of seeing.  Registration required.

Economic Opportunities Council presents Head Start Community Reads Week, October 27-31 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Share your love of reading by signing up to read to our Head Start classrooms!  In honor of Head Start Awareness Month, we invite community members to read your favorite children’s book to a classroom of young learners at one of our Early Head Start & Head Start Centers in Indian River and Okeechobee Counties.

Artists Guild Gallery presents ‘Vero Ocean Views’ by photographer Peter Jordan. His stunning photographs are on exhibit, and for sale during the month of November.

The Emerson Center offers The Florida Art Chicks and Friends Exhibition in its Gallery, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Weekdays, closed Wednesdays, through November 19.

Art in Public Places Program sponsored by the Cultural Council of Indian River County is on exhibit at Indian River County Intergenerational Recreation Center, 1590 9th Street SW through October 30. Summer’s Delight is the theme. Featured Artists include Judy Burgarella, Tony Caruso, Peter Jordan, Joan Mercer and Mark Wygonik.

Environmental Learning Center offers The Gator Group Fiber Artists – Exhibit on view through October. Discover the intricate beauty of hooked-rug fiber art in this vibrant collection by The Gator Group Fiber Artists. Each piece blends color, texture, and storytelling, showcasing the artistry and creativity of this talented collective.

Environmental Learning Center presents A Cuban Season, November 1 through December 31.  A gallery exhibition featuring six Cuban artists working across painting, engraving, drawing, printmaking, and more. Each piece tells its own story of home, memory, and identity, highlighting the rich diversity of Cuban art.

Vero Beach Museum of Art offers Double Portraits, a new exhibition on view October 25 through January 11, 2026.  Featuring 47 photographs by 34 artists, each capturing the rich and ever-evolving American South through the concept of a “double portrait.” 

Art in Public Places Program sponsored by the Cultural Council of Indian River County exhibit at the Indian River County Courthouse, 2000 16th Avenue, Vero Beach.  The Good, The Rad, & The Lovely. P and Jeff Hall show their colorful work through November 6.

Center for Spiritual Care offers Soulful Harvest, the amazing artwork of Lisa Lugo and Gail Lois Jaffe. Exhibit runs through Nov. 14.

Hallway gallery features works by Merana Cadorette. Council Chambers gallery features works by Tony Caruso and Richard Gillmor.

Riverside Theatre offers Little Shop of Horrors through Nov. 9.  Show times vary. You’ll scream with delight at Little Shop of Horrors, the outlandishly funny science fiction musical by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman. Featuring a pop/rock score, Little Shop tells the story of Seymour, a meek and dejected assistant at a flower shop who happens upon a strange plant on his way home.

Center for Spiritual Care offers Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction on October 27 at 6:00 p.m. This is an eight-week program to instruct participants on how to have greater attention control. Registration required. 

Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Vero Beach presents The NOH8 Campaign, a national movement promoting marriage, gender, and human equality through impactful photography. Join us on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to add your voice and your face to the fight for equal human rights. Attendees should arrive camera-ready and wear a plain white shirt, the signature style of NOH8 portraits.

Environmental Learning Center offers Wild Wednesdays on Oct. 29, 3:00 p.m. Join at the F.U.N. Zone Nature Playscape (Families Unplugged in Nature). Designed with homeschool families in mind, this is a chance for kids and parents to unplug, connect with others, and enjoy all the outdoor spaces the ELC has to offer.

Riverside Theatre offers Live in the Loop Local musicians play the Loop Outdoor Stage on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 5:30 p.m. Thursday, 10/30: Rapture; Friday, 10/31: Mighty Flea Circus; Saturday, 11/1: King’s Highway.

Garden Club of Indian River County offers its 34th Annual Ornament Release at participating stores on November 1.

Isola Arts presents Waldo’s Secret Art & Antique Barn November Sale” Nov. 1-2 at Waldo’s Secret Garden, 5000 12th Street, Vero Beach.  This is a showcase of artists of Isola Arts in their 100 year old antique barn, along with some very special picks from Waldo’s many antiques and treasures. Drive to the back of the property, past the giant Tripson Milk Carton, next to the silos where you’ll find art, antiques, music and libations. Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is FREE.
