Songstress and Grammy-nominated artist Joan Osborne honors Bob Dylan on her latest tour which includes a performance from The Emerson Center stage on Thursday, March 5 at 7 p.m.
In 2017, Osborne released the critically acclaimed album, Songs of Bob Dylan. The hit movie “A Complete Unknown” may have stoked a mini-revival of Dylan’s music, but Joan Osborne has been paying homage to the man dating back a few decades.
That admiration is reflected in her album, Dylanology Live, which features eight Dylan covers. Her artistic and soulful reinterpretation of this selection of Dylan songs was an eye-opening moment in an already celebrated career. Eight years after this milestone recording, Osborne will perform the stunning Dylanology Live on this tour and Vero Beach is so fortunate to be included! The captivating recording finds the gifted vocalist performing in front of a live audience, with some special guest artists performing songs that include “Spanish Harlem Incident”, “Buckets Of Rain” “Masters Of War”, “Tonight I’ll Be Staying Here With You” and “High Water (For Charley Patton)”.

Throughout her multi-Grammy nominated three-decade career, Joan Osborne has never been an artist confined to one space as she continues to seamlessly blend into any genre. Her incredible and distinctive voice always shines through her own songs, while she has also become one of her generation’s finest interpreters. Dylanology Live is yet another testament to her artistic range. From folk to county, blues to rock, pop to prog, jazz, gospel, R&B, metal and nearly everything in between, Bob Dylan’s music has proven to be remarkably adaptable to interpretations in almost every genre. Osborne’s sultry, chocolatey voice adapts easily to Dylan’s songs. She uses her artistry to take these Dylan compositions and shows how to re-interpret them with her own unique, sympathetic spin. She sheds new light on old material, exposes some seldom heard Dylan gems and proves once again how flexible and powerful his work remains.
