The Source is building credit and rebuilding futures for its members

At The Source, stability is about more than having a roof overhead. It’s about helping our neighbors (members of The Source) build the tools they need for long-term independence. One of the ways we support this is through our partnership with Tenant Cloud, which allows rent payments to be reported in a way that helps our housed neighbors strengthen their credit over time.

Since July, 2025, The Source became the first non-profit agency on the Treasure Coast to implement the Tenant Cloud software and neighbors participating in this program have seen an average credit score increase of about 25 points if not more in some cases. That may sound like a small number, but it can make a real difference when someone is trying to rebuild their future. Stronger credit scores open doors to safer housing options, lower deposits, improved financial opportunities, car loans and greater confidence moving forward.

The process is straight forward. Registered members of The Source sign up for Tenant Cloud Rent Reporting for $5 a month with the assistance of Jade Alexander, the Director of Neighbor Services. The rent reporting and payment drafting are handled by Tenant Cloud while tracking is done by The Source. Currently, there are 24 member’s credit scores being tracked and increased credit improvements are bringing dignity to their lives.

The program elevates neighbors to move past The Source and when they do not need our full support, they can move out and make space for someone else in need. This program is a powerful reminder that the work happening at The Source is not only about meeting needs in the present moment, but also about helping our neighbors build a foundation for the years ahead.
