Arts, entertainment and fun in Vero Beach, Sebastian and Indian River County as compiled by the Cultural Council of Indian River County for Feb. 21 to 28

Environmental Learning Center offers Little Wonders on Feb. 21 at 10:00 a.m. An engaging outdoor nature enrichment and early literacy program for children 18 months to 4 years old. Participate in Interactive Story Time, Outdoor Mud Kitchen, Pond Exploration, and Nature Crafts.

Sebastian Art Tour 2026 offers its Art Studio Tour Feb. 21 beginning 10:00 a.m. This tour raises awareness of the wonderful and exciting art and the growing community of artists and artisans in this historic city on the shores of the Indian River Lagoon and the City of Sebastian Florida. Riverside Theatre offers Playtime in the Park on Feb. 21, 11:00 a.m. A FREE program for the community’s youngest audience members, it includes dance and theatre offerings from our education programs on the Theatre’s Loop Stage. Ideal for kids 2-5, entertaining for parents and the whole family, too!

Vero Beach Museum of Art hosts 45th Asbury Short Film Concert Asbury Shorts USA Feb. 21 at 1:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. The program will feature a fast-paced and highly entertaining lineup of the best in short film Comedy, Drama, Documentary and Animation. The two-hour showcase will include Oscar Nominees, US Film Festival “Best in Show” winners and international honorees past and present. Pre-registration required.

Environmental Learning Center offers Walking Meditation on Feb. 22 at 1:00 p.m. Walking meditation is a ‘meditation in motion,’ great for beginners and seasoned meditators alike.  If our daily lives are defined by ‘going to’ or ‘coming from’, walking meditation is a practice of mindfulness and being present in the moment.

The Community Church of Vero Beach welcomes “Love Notes:Tales of Passion” by the Melbourne Municipal Band Feb. 22 at 3:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Enjoy an evening of music that is sure to get your blood pumping as they present this concert of moving favorites and new music all composed or arranged for concert band. Donation.

The Emerson Center presents The Jersey Tenors Feb. 22 at 7:00 p.m. Bringing a unique blend of opera and rock to the stage, and featuring music from iconic artists like Queen, Journey, and Frankie Valli. Their high-energy performance and vocal power deliver an unforgettable fusion of classical and contemporary hits.

Riverside Theatre presents Mauritius through Feb. 22, times vary.  When her mother dies, tentative but tenacious Jackie is left with a mound of debt. One glimmer of hope comes by way of a stamp collection, which was willed to her by her mother. However, Jackie’s older half sister claims the collection belongs to her. Theresa Rebeck’s Mauritius is a comedic thriller with twists, turns and double crosses that will have audiences laughing one minute and gasping the next.

Laura (Riding) Jackson Foundation offers Historic House Tours Tuesday 1-5 p.m. Feb. 24 (Each Tues. to the end of April 2026).  See how the noted poet and author lived in her “cracker” architecture-styled house during a docent led tour at the Indian River State College Mueller Campus in Vero Beach.

Unity Spiritual Center of Vero Beach presents The OM Circle Tues. Environmental Learning Center offers Wild Wednesdays Feb. 25 at 3:00 p.m. Join at the F.U.N. Zone Nature Playscape (Families Unplugged in Nature). Designed with homeschool families in mind, this is a chance for kids and parents to unplug, connect with others, and enjoy all the outdoor spaces the ELC has to offer.

The Community Church of Vero Beach hosts Lenten Poetry & Music Series Feb. 26 (each Thurs. in Lent) at 11:00 a.m. Nationally recognized, published, and talented poets present the spoken word in collaboration with local musical talent. Elevate your Lenten journey with the spoken word and music in Grace Chapel. Donation suggested.

Riverside Theatre presents Jesus Christ Superstar Feb. 26 through Mar. 22, times vary.  Based on the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, the play follows the last week of Jesus’ life and explores the personal relationships and struggles among Jesus, his disciples, his followers, and the Roman Empire. Told through song, the iconic 1970’s rock score was the first musical by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber to be produced for the professional stage.

Ballet Vero Beach presents an Interpretive Dance series” at the Vero Beach Museum of Art Feb. 28 at 12 p.m. & 3 p.m. They’ve expanded the Ballet Vero Beach and the Vero Beach Museum of Art partnership (since 2014) by creating two unique programs for the Leonhardt Auditorium stage. Each program will feature arresting choreography by Ballet Vero Beach that interprets the vibrant exhibitions on display at the VBMA.

MusicWorks Concerts presents David Brighton’s Space Oddity…The Quintessential David Bowie Tribute Experience Saturday Feb. 28 at 7:00 p.m. A live, multi-media spectacle that takes you on a musical journey through the constantly metamorphosing career of Rock and Roll’s most celebrated innovator. David Brighton and his amazing band deliver a stunning note-for note theatrical concert event. Held at the Emerson Center. 

Gallery 14 presents The Collage Art of Derek Gores. The internationally acclaimed collage artist Derek Gores returns to Gallery 14 with another solo show in February 2026. Don’t miss this much-anticipated show.

Emerging Artists Program presents “Through Their Eyes” exhibit of photography by Audubon Advocates’ after school program. On view through May 18.

Vero Beach Museum of Art celebrates our Nation’s 250th year with American Made: Paintings and Sculpture from the DeMell Jacobsen Collection to June 7. This is an exhibition of more than 80 works by renowned American artists, including Benjamin West, Sarah Miriam Peale, Edward Moran, John Singer Sargent, Mary Cassatt, Robert Henri, and Charles Alston. The exhibit spans 250 years, with an emphasis on the 19th and 20th centuries.
