Families can soon enroll their budding artists ages 5 to 16 in their choice of weekly themed sessions at the Vero Beach Museum of Art’s Summer Art Camp. Museum members may begin registering on March 9 at vbmuseum.org/summer-art-camp; registration opens to the public on March 23.
Summer Art Camp includes time in VBMA’s studios and galleries. Campers, grouped by age, will explore a variety of artmaking techniques, materials, and processes. Sessions are taught by professional art educators in a uniquely creative environment, allowing artists of all levels to explore new ideas, develop skills, and build self-esteem through art. All supplies are included.
“Our week-long summer camps combine creative artmaking in the studios and collaborative exploration in the galleries, ” shares VBMA Director of Education and Visitor Experience Sara Klein. “Weekly themes are inspired by the exhibitions on view, as well as the VBMA’s collection. Throughout the week, campers’ artworks are proudly displayed in the Patricia M. Patten Community Gallery.”
Weekly Summer Art Camp sessions begin on Monday, June 1. The last session takes place during the week of July 20. There is no class on June 19 (Juneteenth).
Klein reminds parents that sessions fill quickly and recommends registering as early as possible.
Register online at vbmuseum.org/summer-art-camp. Hardcopy registration forms and camp flyers may be picked up at the Vero Beach Museum of Art in late February.
