The Board of County Commissioners invites residents and visitors to attend a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony celebrating the Grand Opening of the newly expanded sporting clay course and improved entry road at the Indian River County Public Shooting Range.
The event will be held at 10455 102nd Terrace, Sebastian, FL 32958, on Tuesday, March 3. A Meet and Greet with refreshments will begin at 9:00 a.m., providing attendees an opportunity to speak with event speakers and invited guests prior to the ceremony. The official ribbon cutting and acknowledgements will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. Following the ceremony, attendees will be invited to tour the range and visit with range officers throughout the facility.
“These enhancements mark a significant investment in the facility and the shooting sports community,” said Commission Chair Deryl Loar. “The west sporting clay course spans 2,261 feet, and with the addition of the new east course measuring 1,450 feet, members will now enjoy a combined total of 3,711 feet of sporting clay trails.”
“Funding for these improvements was partially provided through a partnership with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service,” said Beth Powell, Parks, Recreation and Conservation Director. “This grant funding, utilized in cooperation with the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners, reflects our continued commitment to enhancing recreational opportunities for residents and visitors.”
The west course is currently open, with the east course now ready to welcome participants as part of this exciting expansion. For additional information, please contact Jerry Seldes, Shooting Range Manager, at 772226-3091 or jseldes@indianriver.gov
