Foundations in RI and West Palm support The Young Journalist

The Young Journalist is pleased to announce financial support from foundations in Rhode Island and West Palm Beach, FL.  

A Rhode Island foundation, wishing to remain anonymous, understandably supports non-profits within its area. But The Young Journalist “piqued our interest because it is such a unique program.”

The Cornelia T. Bailey Foundation of West Palm Beach is again providing financial support to The Young Journalist.  With assets of $ 175 million, the Cornelia T. Bailey New Era Writers Program is “dedicated to inspiring individuals looking to enhance their writing skills or connect with a community of like-minded writers.”  

The Cornelia T. Bailey Foundation firmly believes that effective writing and communication are invaluable life skills. They are committed to backing programs that equip individuals with the tools and knowledge to articulate their thoughts through writing, fostering the ability to construct compelling arguments for advancing our culture. The New Era Writers Program is designed to provide support to writers in their pursuit of a fulfilling career and passion for writing. 

In addition to mentoring students on the fundamentals of journalism, The Young Journalist creates a sense of belonging, provides safety and supervision and builds student’s self-confidence, with mentors acting as coaches, confidants, and role models.
