Vero Beach Museum of Art offers Children’s Art Festival on Apr. 11, 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The FREE, all-ages event, is the museum’s annual celebration of the arts and art making. Attendees will enjoy art projects in the studios, music and dance performances, food trucks, art hunts, docent-led tours of the galleries, and free admission to the museum’s galleries.

Vero Beach Museum of Art offers Second Saturday on Apr. 11, 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.   Admission is free every second Saturday of the month. Second Saturdays features a variety of cultural offerings, including the widely popular Museums Studios for families.  Activities vary each month.

Riverside Theatre offers Playtime in the Park on April 11 and 18, 11:00 a.m. A FREE program for the community’s youngest audience members, it includes dance and theatre offerings from their education programs on the Theatre’s Loop Stage. Ideal for kids 2-5, entertaining for parents and the whole family, too!

Unity Spiritual Center of Vero Beach presents EarthFest 2016 Apr. 11, 2:00-7:00 p.m. A community Earth Festival with Food, Live Music, Artisan Market, Family Activities, Environmental Booths and Wellness Practitioners.

Vero Beach Opera offers Piano Scholarship Spring Concert Apr. 11 at 2:00 p.m. The free concert features music by Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Mendelssohn, Scriabin, Satie, among others. We are showcasing the ongoing musical maturity of two longer term students and introducing three new students for the first time in our program. Playing in front of a live audience is an important part of their development.  At Christ By The Sea United Methodist Church. 

Vero Beach Chamber of Commerce hosts the monthly Sunset Saturday Concert on Ocean Dr. Apr. 11 at 5:00 p.m. Starting in Nov and ending in May. Non profit of the month and the Indian River Antique Auto Club each month. Southern Eagle provides beer and wine for sale. Located by Humiston Park.

The Heritage Center offers DEEPLY ROOTED – NEXTGEN Apr. 11 at 6:00 p.m. Vero Heritage, the non-profit that stewards the Heritage Center and Indian River Citrus Museum, will host its yearly gala fundraiser. This exciting and unique event will celebrate the young people in the county who are actively involved in their pioneer famiies’ business, community involvement, and leadership.

Laura (Riding) Jackson Foundation offers Kids Write Outside 1 p.m. Apr. 12. Creative writing activities for children ages 3 to 11 at the historic LRJF pole barn. Indian River State College Mueller Campus in Vero Beach.

Laura (Riding) Jackson Foundation offers Historic House Tours Sunday 1-5 p.m. Apr. 12 (Every second Sunday through April). Come learn about the historic “cracker” style architecture and life of national author, Laura (Riding) Jackson. A docent led tour at the Indian River State College Mueller Campus in Vero Beach.

Ballet Vero Beach presents The Sleeping Princess Apr. 12 at 2:00 p.m. As a part of our Accessible/Family Friendly Series, these extra special, hour-long performances are specifically geared to the needs of the differently abled individuals of our community and also families with young children. Performances are a bit informal and include modified audio/visual effects and venue setup. Held at the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center.

Riverside Theatre presents Almost, Maine through Apr. 12, times vary.  On a cold and enchanted winter night, the people of the town of Almost experience the life-altering power of the human heart. John Cariani’s Almost, Maine is a series of loosely connected tales about love and longing, each with a compelling couple, and each with its own touch of magic propelled by the mystical energy of the aurora borealis.

Laura (Riding) Jackson Foundation offers Historic House Tours Tuesday 1-5 p.m. Apr. 14 (Each Tues. to the end of April 2026).  See how the noted poet and author lived in her “cracker” architecture-styled house during a docent led tour at the Indian River State College Mueller Campus in Vero Beach.

Unity Spiritual Center of Vero Beach presents The OM Circle Tues. Apr. 14 at 7:00 p.m. Held every Tuesday for an evening of live Inspirational Music, Kirtan, Chanting, Crystal Bowl Meditation, & Dancing. Come together in community for soulful expression, healing, and upliftment. Experience the power of sacred sound and heartfelt connection.

Vero Beach Museum of Art education staff and docents offers an Art Talk “Art Across Time” on Apr. 15 at 12:00 p.m. An in-depth focus on select artworks from special exhibitions and the permanent collection. Registration required.

For two afternoons, the world’s top rising opera singers compete in front of a live audience (that’s you). The third day, they perform their best arias in an elegant evening concert which culminates with the announcement of the competition winners. Held at the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center. 

Vero Heritage Center presents its monthly Bluegrass Concert Apr. 15 at 6:30 p.m. A different Blue Grass band every month until May for your delight. April’s concert features the band True Gritz, blending music that is true to the genre but still exciting, foot stompin’, and gritty. Free admission.

The Cave Gallery of Art presents Introspections – Artwork by Barry Shapiro exhibiting to April 15.

Environmental Learning Center offers a Beginners’ Bird Walk around the Environmental Learning Center on Apr. 16 (and each third Thursday of the month) from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., registration required.

Sebastian River Art Club presents Beautiful Lagoon Show Apr. 18 at 10:00 a.m. Celebrate nature, creativity and our beautiful community during the Earth Day and Arbor Day Celebration. Held at Riverview Park, 600 U.S. Highway 1, on the corner of U.S. Highway 1 and C.R. 512/Sebastian Boulevard in Sebastian.

Environmental Learning Center offers Little Wonders on April 18 at 10:00 & 11:30 a.m. An engaging outdoor nature enrichment and early literacy program for children 18 months to 4 years old. Participate in Interactive Story Time, Outdoor Mud Kitchen, Pond Exploration, and Nature Crafts.

Treasure Coast Jazz Society presents Bria Skonberg 2017 JUNO Winner Apr. 18 at 11:30 a.m. at the Oak Harbor Club. Ms. Skonberg has become the shining hope of hot jazz, on the strength of a clarion trumpet style indebted to Louis Armstrong, a smooth purr of a singing voice inspired by Anita O’Day and the wholesome glow of youth.

The Emerson Center presents Legendary Songs and Stories of John Simon April 18 at 3:00 p.m. Music and storytelling with one of the most influential record producers of the 1960s. Be part of a musical journey as he performs his clever songs and shares stories from his incredible career. Free performance, donation suggested.

Vero Beach Museum of Art offers Selections from the “Great American Songbook” April 18 at 3:00 p.m. Clap your hands and tap your feet when Pianist Tom Servinsky and vocalist Lisa Macalaster as they take you on a musical journey that echoes the creativity and spirit of America.  The performance complements American Made: Paintings and Sculpture from the DeMell Jacobsen Collection.

Art in Public Places Program sponsored by the Cultural Council of Indian River County is on exhibit in the Indian River County Administration Buildings A and B. “Fun In The Sun” is the theme. This Artist Member Exhibit includes Grace Cormier, Tony Caruso, Stuart Duvall and Janet Grossarth. On view to April 20.

Gallery 14 presents Aloft: Aerial Kite Photography by Evan Reinheimer, guest artist to April 24. He is an award-winning artist from New York and specializes in a photographic technique wherein kites are used to lift a camera to capture aerial photographs unveiling a fresh perspective on the world unseen before.

Artists Guild Gallery presents Exhibit for April Guest Artist Ocean Surf Photographer Peter Jordan.  Peter is a painterly photographer unsurpassed in his field.  The images he creates with his camera flow as if painted by a master artist with calculated brush strokes. On view through April 30.

Center for Spiritual Care presents Timothy Sanchez. His New Works Exhibition will be showing at the Center through April 30.

Art in Public Places Program sponsored by the Cultural Council of Indian River County exhibit at the Indian River County Courthouse, 2000 16th Avenue, Vero Beach. Solo exhibit by Merana Cadorette “Travels In Watercolor” On view through May 11.

Art in Public Places Program sponsored by the Cultural Council of Indian River County is on exhibit at Indian River County Intergenerational Recreation Center, 1590 9th Street SW. Emerging Artists Program presents “Through Their Eyes” exhibit of photography by Audubon Advocates’ after school program. On view through May 18.

Vero Beach Museum of Art celebrates our Nation’s 250th year with American Made: Paintings and Sculpture from the DeMell Jacobsen Collection to June 7. This is an exhibition of more than 80 works by renowned American artists, including Benjamin West, Sarah Miriam Peale, Edward Moran, John Singer Sargent, Mary Cassatt, Robert Henri, and Charles Alston. The exhibit spans 250 years, with an emphasis on the 19th and 20th centuries.
