Sheriff’s Office looking for suspect in video store robbery

The suspect in the robbery at Game Stop this morning is believed to have acted alone. In addition to an undisclosed amount of cash and some merchandise, the suspect took the store employee’s wallet and cell phone. Both the wallet and phone were recovered by deputies near the corner of 66th Avenue and S.R. 60.  The employee was alone at the time of the robbery although another customer had been in the store at the same time as the suspect. The robbery took place after the customer left the store. There were no injuries and no shots were fired.

As depicted in the attached photos, the suspect GS suspect 1CR 10-10-13passed a note demanding cash and lifted his shirt to show what the store employee believed to be handgun in the suspect’s waistband.

Indian River County Sheriff’s Office Detectives are in contact with investigators from Brevard County as a similar robbery occurred in Melbourne, Florida yesterday.

At approximately 11:15 a,m. this morning, the Game Stop at 6310 20th Street in Vero Beach was robbed by a suspect armed with a handgun. The suspect is described as a white male with a dark/tanned complexion wearing a green and white sports jersey (possibly Miami Dolphins or New York Jets) with the name “Sanchez” on the back.  The suspect was also wearing tan pants and a black ball cap with a red spider logo. He is 6 feet tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds. He has a chipped front tooth.  

 Witnesses noted that the suspect left west bound on S.R. 60 in a white compact, 4 door vehicle. No other suspect or vehicle description was available.

 There were no reported injuries or gunfire. Additional information will be released as it becomes available. Video or photos will be released if they are available.
