bruletEsther Dianna Brulet, 74, of Vero Beach, passed away Monday, December 3rd 2013 at Indian River Memorial Hospital. 

She was born on August 21, 1939 in Bristol, Rhode Island and had been a resident of Vero Beach for over 16 years coming from Floral Park, New York. Esther was a retired transportation supervisor in New York as well as a matriarchal family figure. 

Esther is survived by her husband, Charles Brulet of Vero Beach, her brother Charles Booth Jr. of Warren, RI, her sister Karen Booth of Vero Beach, FL, her son Karl and wife Mia D’Ambrosio of North Adams, MA, Kimberly D’Ambrosio of Vero Beach, and Candace and husband Martin Kovach. Also, her grandchildren, Kyle D’Ambrosio of Newport, RI, Andrew Marrocelli, Sarah Melia, and Skyla-Kim Emperador of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Andrew Kovach, Jessica Kovach and Laura Bedson of Queens, NY. 

Esther is predeceased by her daughter Karen Whitear of Coral Springs, FL 

A Celebration of Life service will be held in Esther’s honor at New Hope Ministries, on Saturday, December 7th 2013, at 1:00 pm located at 4425 71st Street, Vero Beach, FL.

ClarkMary Margaret Alfalla Clark, 78 of Vero Beach, FL passed away Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Grace Rehabilitation Center of Vero Beach, FL. She was born in Bronx, NY and was a resident of Vero Beach since 1998, coming from her birthplace. Mary was a member and an usher at St. Helen Catholic Church. Prior to retirement she was a branch manager at Chase Bank in Manhattan, NY for 30 years. Survivors include her daughter Marylisa Alfalla of Vero Beach, FL; one sister Kathleen Walsh of Vero Beach, FL; one brother John Smith of Palm Bay, FL; first husband John Alfalla of Vero Beach, FL and her beloved dog Tanner. She was preceded in death by her second husband Thomas J. Clark in 2011. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Helen Catholic Church Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 10 AM. Burial will follow at South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth, FL. Emilie V. Johnson, 93, passed away December 3, 2013 at The Gardens of Port St. Lucie.  Emilie was born in Detroit, MI. She moved to the Treasure Coast in 1988 coming from Caldwell, NJ. Mrs. Johnson worked in the fashion industry as a model and later went into fashion design where she served for numerous design houses until her retirement. Emilie was a member of the Catholic faith. Survivors include her nieces; Jean Rozek of Bayside, NY and Betsy Beuth of Vero Beach; nephew; Paul Rozek of Floral Park, NY, great niece; Emma Rozek of Bayside, NY. She was preceded in death by her husband Herman Johnson. SERVICES: The family will receive friends on Monday December 9th from 10:00 AM till 11:00AM at Strunk Funeral Home Vero beach with a Prayer Service starting at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Crestlawn Cemetery following service. (12/07/13)

KolinerDavid Lee Koliner, 24, of Vero Beach, Florida passed away December 5, 2013. He was born November 3, 1989 in New Brunswick, NJ and had been a resident of Vero Beach since 1998, coming from Warren, NJ. He was a 2009 graduate of Vero Beach High School. David worked as the game room manager and cook at Stevie B’s for 3 and a half years. He was a member of Vero Beach Church of Christ and the American Culinary Federation. David enjoyed his video games, Facebook, drawing, reading and was always willing to lend a helping hand.He is survived by his mother, Patricia (Joseph) Hogan of Vero Beach; father, Martin (Leona Rockwell) Koliner of Vero Beach; brothers, Michael Andrew Koliner of Vero Beach and James W. (Chrissy) Rockwell of Hedgesville, WV; sisters, Amanda and Eva Hogan, both of Vero Beach and Lisa Rockwell (Kam) Ambrose of Martinsburg, WV; fiance, Erin Pyke of Vero Beach; nephews, Tyler Tribby and Dillon Rockwell. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Elaine and Sam Koliner, Cecilia Ross and Frederick Kyne. David was caring to all who knew him and will be greatly missed by his family, his Stevie B’s family, his church family and the community of Vero Lago. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM, Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 10 AM, Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Vero Beach Church of Christ, 3306 20th Street, Vero Beach, Florida. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Ft. Gary Dean Marks, 72, died December 5, 2013 at Sebastian River Medical Center in Sebastian. He was born in Galconda, Illinois and lived in Micco coming from Eufaula, Alabama in 2004. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Marine Corp. having served during the Vietnam era. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Gogan Marks of Micco; son, Anthony Marks of Pinellas Park; mother, Roberta Marks of Columbia, Missouri; sisters, Linda Taulli of New Orleans, Louisiana and Regina Van Patten of Jefferson City, Missouri. SERVICES: A service will be announced at a later date. (12/07/13)

McHughSusan Mary Cort McHugh, died at her home in Vero Beach on December 5, 2013. She was born in Yorkshire, England, attended Ackworth School and worked for Elizabeth Arden in London. On February 22, 1958, she married Dr. William D McHugh and they lived in London and Birmingham, England, and Dundee, Scotland, before immigrating to Rochester, New York in 1970. Susan is survived by: two children, Moira A. Douglas of Lake Worth, Florida and Alan N.C. McHugh (Jeanne Heffernan) of Tuxedo Park, New York; two grandchildren, David W. Douglas and Cordelia E. McHugh; her husband; her sister Margaret R. Rothchild (Eric) of Seattle, Washington; and her brother Geoffrey M. Court (Jean) of Kent, England. 
Susan was a caring mother, as well as a lively elegant lady. She was very active in philanthropy, in Rochester, where she was a Board member and President of the Council of the George Eastman House and International Museum of Photography, along with many other charitable causes. Susan enjoyed playing tennis, golf and bridge, and especially, entertaining which she did superbly well. In 1992, Susan and her husband started to spend winters in Vero Beach and in 1998, settled there full time. Family services will be private. Those who wish to contribute in Susan’s memory to The George Eastman House, 800 East Avenue, Rochester, New York, 14607, or to the Atlantic Classical Orchestra, 141 North US 1, Fort Pierce, Florida, 34950. SungrenEmmajean “Jean” Wilson Sundgren, 88, died December 5, 2013 at her home in Vero Beach. Jean was born in Lockport, NY to Thomas and Hazel Wilson and lived in Vero Beach for 20 years coming from Syracuse, NY. She went through the public School System in Lockport, NY and later attended Michigan State University, Lansing, MI. Jean worked as a secretary for many years, most recently for the Midland Bank, now HSBC, in Syracuse, NY before her retirement. She was a member of The Community Church, Vero Beach, FL. She served as a deacon at the Park Central Presbyterian Church in Syracuse, NY. She was a volunteer in the emergency room at the Community General Hospital in Syracuse for many years. Jean was an avid golfer and bridge player. Survivors include husband, Roy L. Sundgren of Vero Beach; daughter, Carole Mosher of Prairie Village, KA; brother Stanley Wilson of Wilmington, NC; 4 granddaughters and 6 great-grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Mosher, brother, Roger Wilson and sister,Marilyn Wilson. Memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society Of Vero Beach, P.O. Box 644, Vero Beach, FL 32961 in memory of Emmajean W. Sundgren. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. (12/07/13)
