According to WTTB radio host Bob Soos, Indian River County School Board member Shawn Frost sent an email threatening the station with loss of advertising revenue through his consulting firm if blogger Bea Gardner were not removed from her weekly slot on the Morning Magazine program.  Soos said Frost offered “other stuff” as well, and requested an opportunity to respond to Gardner “lies.”

Frost objected to Gardner’s reporting on questions raised about his residency qualifications to have run last Aug. for the District 1 seat on the Indian River County School Board.

Frost’s email to WTTB management is not the first expression of his frustration with Gardner. On Aug. 28, using the same IP address from which Frost communicated with Gardner in January, an anonymous commenter wrote,  “Still butthurt about being destroyed by both Wilson and Zorc in previous political ventures?” Frost has so far been unwilling to confirm or deny that he wrote the off-color comment to Gardner. 1. Why is it that when politicians have their lies exposed that they seek revenge from the person who told the truth? Senator Negron has indicated that when the Florida legislature begins their next session that new legislation will be introduced to make residency a transparent issue so that the voters know when someone seeking office is merely lying in order to get votes.

  2. Pat, It’s called….when you cannot defend yourself with your lies you MUST ATTACK THE MESSENGER. I am wondering one more thing regarding the “Frost residency dance”. If he lives in District 1 , did he homestead his home in District 3. Isn’t that against the law….to claim residency in one place and claim a homestead exemption in another residence? Just asking.

  3. the children he allegedly represents are far more mature than the board member himself.

let that sink in for a moment.

  4. Get Rid of him !. Politicians are supposed to be held to a higher standard in their professional life. IRC Schools are awful .

  5. A full investigation by the legal authorities on all aspects of this case should be under taken. Its hard to believe this “offer” ever took place, but if it did Frost must resign. I do believe Soos ;he has nothing to gain by this revelation

  6. John Church is correct. A full investigation is warranted. The legal counsel for the School Board and the Supervisor of Elections should have evaluated the issues prior to Shawn Frost taking the oath of office. There are two penalties associated with giving false information in regard to the homestead exemption. There is a civil financial penalty associated with the presentation of false information on the homestead exemption application.. There is also the ability of the State to put a tax lien on property if false information is provided in regard to homstead exemptions. It would be in the best interests of the public for Inside Vero to interview the Tax Collector, Carol Jean Jordan, on these issues.

  7. Homestead and Homesteaded fraud falls under David Nolte, property appraiser, he would be investigating, the tax collector only does that, collect.
