Dodgertown LogoHistoric Dodgertown and Softball Factory today announced the signing of a three-year partnership providing the latter’s use of the Historic Dodgertown facility in Vero Beach. The facility will be known as the Southern Home of Softball Factory.

Softball Factory, a division of Factory Athletics, is the leader in developing softball talent and helping educate players on the college recruiting process. Since its creation in 1994, Factory Athletics has helped place over 75,000 players in college programs that suited their best interests as student athletes. These players have received an astounding $1 Billion in college scholarships. Factory Athletics’ system of world class instruction and life-changing experiences provides players with unique player development opportunities that lead to future success both on the field and in the classroom.

“We are very excited to make Historic Dodgertown the Southern Home of Softball Factory,” said Vice President of Business Development Jeff Brazier. “Historic Dodgertown is a tremendous facility that will continue to serve as an ideal venue for our events. Making this long-term partnership with Historic Dodgertown is right for our organization and we look forward to holding numerous events in Vero Beach over the next few years.”

“Historic Dodgertown is very pleased to enter into this agreement with Factory Athletics,” stated Vice President and Director of Athletics Jeff Biddle. “Factory Athletics is a national leader in developing student athletes and helping them get to the next level. Four years ago, in conjunction with Indian River County, we endeavored to build a state-of-the-art fastpitch facility, which would attract high level softball events to our area. This agreement to host Softball Factory events will ensure that the best players and coaches in the country will play at Historic Dodgertown for years to come.”

Historic Dodgertown is the former Spring Training home of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Players like Jackie Robinson, Sandy Koufax, Mike Piazza, Kirk Gibson and Hideo Nomo graced the fields at Historic Dodgertown from 1953-2008. Today Historic Dodgertown is designed to give players the opportunity to train, stay and play together in a unique environment where athletes can develop their skills to the highest level. Historic Dodgertown is an all-inclusive facility that includes 89 on-site hotel accommodations, weight training facilities, on-site dining options, conference rooms and Major League-caliber baseball and softball facilities. The Historic Dodgertown softball complex is comprised of four full fields, a multi-purpose field and eight indoor lighted batting cages and pitching tunnels. Historic Dodgertown hosts the FCSAA and FHSAA Softball State Championships and is ideal for large softball events like those operated by Softball Factory.

Factory Athletics has hosted events at Historic Dodgertown since 1999. The new contract will bring more than 2,000 participants to Vero Beach over a three-year span, the majority from outside of Florida. The partnership between Historic Dodgertown and Softball Factory will strengthen the already important economic role sports plays in Vero Beach and Indian River County.
