Indian River Symphonic Association announces revised 2017 concert series


Indian River Symphonic Association copyBringing the World’s Finest Orchestras, Conductors and Soloists to Indian River County for its 24th Season, the Indian River Symphonic Association announces its 2017 Concert Series.  All performances are at the Community Church of Vero Beach at 7:30 pm.

January 12, 2017     Prague Philharmonia: Emmanuel Villaume, Conductor, featuring Violinist Sarah Chang.  Program: Bedfich Smetana, The Moldau;  Antonin Dvorak, Violin Concerto in A minor, Op. 53; and Antonin Dvorak Symphony No. 8 in G major, Op. 88.

January 27, 2017     National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine: Volodymyr Sirenko, Conductor, performing Antonin Dvorak: Carnival Overture, Op. 92; Robert Schumann: Piano Concerto in A minor, featuring Pianist Alexei Grynyuk; and Dimitri Shostakovich:  Symphony No. 5, Op. 47.  

February 13, 2017    Bamberg Symphony: Christoph Eschenbach, Conductor, performing Wolfgang Mozart: Overture to Don Giovanni; Felix Mendelssohn: Violin

Concerto in D minor, featuring Violinist Ray Chen; and  Ludwig van Beethoven, Symphony  No. 3 .     

February 20, 2017    Brevard Symphony Orchestra: Christopher Confessore, Conductor, performing its annual Pops Concert: “Hooray For Hollywood”

March 10, 2017    Brevard Symphony Orchestra: Christopher Confessore, Conductor,   performing Georges Bizet: Music from Carmen; Joaquin Rodrigo: Concierto de Aranjuez; and Manuel de Falla: The Three Cornered Hat and featuring Guitarist Pablo Villegas. 

March 17, 2017    Royal Scottish National Orchestra:  Peter Oundjian, Conductor, performing  Alexander Borodin, Prince Igor: Overture;  Johannes Brahms, Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 77. featuring Violinist Nicola Benedetti; and Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Symphony No. 4 in F minor, Op. 36.  

April 2, 2017    Brevard Symphony Orchestra:  Christopher Confessore, Conductor, performing Johann S. Bach/arr. Stokowski, Air; Ludwig van Beethoven, Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 61, featuring Violinist Elmar Oliveira; and Johannes Brahms, Symphony No. 4 in E minor, Op. 98.
