Chipolte, Vero Beach. The rain was no deterrent for the hundreds of people who came to show their moral and financial support for Jermey on this dreary evening full of hope. Our facebook posts and flyers told them they could make dinner a selfless act by joining Camp Haven for a fundraiser at Chipolte to support Jermey and his family in their struggle.

On Friday May 5th, Jermey found out he has adenocarcinoma in his pancreas and it had spread to his liver. The oncologist suggested that he start an aggressive form of chemo therapy ASAP but Jermey has no health insurance. Jermey is 41and has a young family. Baby Maiya is just 17 months old. We are asking for prayers and financial support to ease the many challenges Jermey, Brenda and the children will face in the months ahead.

Jermey has a passion to serve God, which he has done for over ten years by helping the homeless and currently working with men in transition at Camp Haven Inc. The family is a faith filled family and have asked for prayers on Facebook.

“I am humbled by the outpouring of love and support,” said Jermey, “and I and my family are grateful to God and the community. I love Vero Beach!”

“There is a beautiful picture of Aaron holding up Moses’s hands to support him as he fights against the enemy. We saw the same support from members of the Christian Community as they gathered to enjoy a meal and pray together for Jermey and his family”. Calvary Church Pastor Jim Gallagher later said.

“Jermey feels blessed by the concern and outpouring of support from so many.” Added Camp Haven Executive Director, Lalita Janke.

We could all at least pray for Jermey and his family, and donate funds, as their expenses will soon be mounting up. Together we can encourage Jermey to keep his spirits up. Please give what you can by donating online at or by writing a check made out to Jermey Gable and mailing it to Camp Haven, 3256 US Hwy 1, Vero Beach, FL 32960. Jermey and Brenda will appreciate it.
