Three community leaders have been invited to become members of the Executive Roundtable of Indian River County bringing the number of voting members to twenty-two.
The Executive Roundtable of Indian River County is a group of executive level community leaders from the school system, law enforcement, government and social service organizations, who come together to identify solutions and accomplish system changes that will protect and enhance the lives of Indian River County children, individuals, families and senior residents. Their meetings are held the last Thursday morning of each month at the United Way of Vero Beach.
The new members are Karen Deigl, President/CEO of Senior Resource Association where she successfully advocates for older adults and their families; Angelia Perry, the Executive Director of the Gifford Youth Achievement Center and Ann Berner of the Southeast Florida Behavioral Health Network .
Officers include Keith Touchberry-City of Fellsmere PD-Chairman; Bob McPartlan-Florida Department of Children and Families-Vice Chair; Kip Jacoby-Morgan, Jacoby, Thurn, Boyle & Assoc-Treasurer and Michael Kint-United Way of Vero Beach-Secretary.
The group’s initial focus is Kids at Hope, a national concept that demonstrates that all children are capable of success, with no exceptions. Kids at Hope is currently being implemented at Dodgertown Elementary School, Vero Beach Elementary School, Alternative Center for Education, Gifford Youth Activity Center and in the fall, Sebastian and Treasure Coast Elementary Schools will be included.
