Cheers to Ten Years! will be celebrated at the Tenth Annual Kickoff Brunch at 10 o’clock am on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at the Oak Harbor Clubhouse.
Registration begins at 9:15 am and reservations are required as the event sells out every year. The price is $50 per person; reservations can be made online at http://www.impact100ir.com. Deadline for reservations is October 31st.
In 2008, the original founders set a goal of finding 100 women to join the effort – and they actually recruited 205 members the first year. Membership has increased each year since, with 439 members in the most recent year, making us one of the largest women’s collective giving organizations in the United States.
Suzanne Carter, Impact 100 President, stated, “We are very excited about the content of our Kickoff Brunch program. In addition to hearing Wendy Steele, the National Founder of Impact 100, discuss the organization’s genesis, we will learn from Dace Stubbs, local founder, how Indian River Impact 100 came to be. Furthermore, continuing with last year’s theme of highlighting our Community Partners, we will hear individual stories of how our grants have directly impacted local non-profits and our community. Not only a celebration, we intend it to be an event of hope.”
Indian River Impact 100 is made up of women who are committed to improving the community through transformational grants to local charitable organizations. Each member contributes $1,000, which is pooled to fund high-impact grants in amounts of $100,000. All funds are awarded to nonprofits and each member has one vote!
In 2016-17, 439 women joined the initiative which awarded grants to Alzheimer and Parkinson Association of IRC, Childcare Resources of Indian River, Hibiscus Children’s Center and ORCA, achieving a combined milestone of over $3.3 million in funds distributed over the past nine years. All women from Indian River County are welcome. More information can be found at www.impact100ir.com.
We are women who collectively impact the lives of individuals and our community through transformational grants. One woman… one check… one vote!
