SRAC’S ART BY THE RIVER ON SATURDAY

The Sebastian River Art Club members will exhibit a wide variety of artwork at Riverview Park in Sebastian during “Art by the River” on Saturday, November 25 from 10 am to 4 pm.  Free.

 

 

 

10th Annual Traditional Nutcracker Ballet with live orchestra will be performed at the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center on Saturday, November 25 at 2:00 and 7:00 pm.  Presented by  Ballet Vero, Parents and Friends Inc. and performed by the local talent of Vero Classical Ballet School and other surrounding ballet schools as well as guest artists from the Orlando Ballet.  Tickets are $10-$25 with Student and Senior Discounts available.  For tickets visit http://www.veroclassicalballet.com/tickets. 

Small Business Saturday will be held on Saturday, November 25 along and around 14th Avenue in downtown Vero Beach.  Promoted by Main Street Vero Beach, downtown shops will be open from 10 am to 4 pm with whole store discounted sale items.   In addition, you can dine small at one of our local restaurants during the event, or shop and stay for the evening and dine along 14th Avenue at some of our hottest local eateries or purchase a gift certificate for a great meal for one of your friends.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 26

Theatre-Go-Round Dinner Theatre presents its final performance of Dionne Warwick hits, “That’s What Friends Are For,”  at the Quilted Giraffe on Sunday, November 26.  Door open at 4:30 pm for dinner and the show.  All inclusive ticket price is $65 per person.  Call 772-252-9341 to reserve your space.

The Sunrise Theatre in Fort Pierce presents Tango Buenos Aires – The Spirit Of Argentina  on Sunday,  November 26  at 7:00 pm.  Tango Buenos Aires is known throughout the Americas, Europe, and the Far East as the most authentic and uncompromising representative of the tango. The National League of American Pen Women, Vero Beach Branch will be holding their New & Perspective Member Invitational on Tuesday, November 28 at 4 pm at the home of Lisa Rose.  A brief orientation of the application process & history will be followed by a Musical Program and Wine & Hors d’oeuvres will be served.  For information please E-mail Lisa Rose at lisarose22@gmail.com.

The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County (HSVB) will be holding an upcoming Feline Foster Parent Orientation class on Tuesday, November 28 from 5-6 p.m. Learn how to care for cats and kittens and prepare them for finding a forever homes.   The program is very flexible and the Humane Society covers all costs associated with fostering. Ballet Vero Beach announces a fundraiser in support of “Nutcracker on Indian River.” to be performed in late December.  Tea Up for the Nutcracker fundraiser will be held at Oak Harbor Club on Saturday, December 2 at Noon.   Activities include:   Nutcracker Fashion Show and Seated Lunch; Fun Zone with miniature golf, cookie decorating, and visits with Santa and Nutcracker Characters;  Curated silent auction, Leigh Jewelers Rolex watch drawing, and passed gourmet desserts. Tickets are $75 for adults, $50 for Children ages 13-20, and $25 for kids 12 and under. COMING TO RIVERSIDE THEATRE: DISTINGUISHED LECTURER SERIES

Riverside Theatre’s Distinguished Lecturer Series is celebrating its 20th season of hosting distinguished and thought-provoking lecturers from around the globe. Founders Frannie Atchison and Debbi Peniston are pleased to announce the line-up for the 2018 lecture season: January 22 – Secretary Ash Carter, Former U.S. Secretary of Defense (2015-2017); February 5 – The Right Honourable David Cameron, Former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (2010-2016); February 19 – Senator Phil Gramm, Former Head of the Senate Banking Committee; and March 12 – Ambassador Christopher R. Hill, Former Ambassador to South Korea, Iraq and Poland. Two lectures will be given each date and cost for the season is $350 for the Stark Mainstage, $200 for the Waxlax simulcast.
