Pedestrian killed by Brightline train Friday night

The controversial Brightline passenger service has already claimed its third pedestrian victim during trial runs as commercial service is set to begin this morning.


Brightline’s first ride to Fort Lauderdale took off on time Saturday morning with a few glitches for customers who bought tickets at the station. But that didn’t stop the excitement.

Matthew Litwin of Jupiter rode the 8 a.m. train to Fort Lauderdale and will take it back to West Palm. “I’ve been really anxious to ride on it,” he said. “The day is finally here.” Continue reading...
