NEWS RELEASE
Flu in Florida is a real threat. To aid in the fight against flu, the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) of the Treasure Coast is offering flu shots on Friday, February 9th. Nurses will be on hand at the VNA Hidden Treasures thrift store, located at 656 21st Street, in the Miracle Mile shopping plaza, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Other vaccines offered will include:
- Pneumonia
- Prevnar13
- Quadrivalent
The VNA can administer shots to individuals 10 years of age and older. No out-of-pocket expenses will be charged to patients who present a Medicare card. Free flu shots are available to individuals who do not have health insurance and cannot otherwise afford to pay.
Though flu vaccines can vary in effectiveness from season to season, flu vaccines are safe and are the best way to prevent influenza infection and serious influenza complications. Those who have not been vaccinated should get vaccinated as soon as possible.
