The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County (HSVB) is pleased to announce that it has received a generous donation of pet food from the pet supply company Chewy. More than 10,000 pounds of donated pet food will be used to help shelter animals, Indian River County pets in underserved communities and pets belonging to seniors. HSVB will also be distributing pet food to assist other Florida animal shelter partners in need.
“At the Humane Society of Vero Beach & Indian River County, we are constantly seeking opportunities to work with philanthropically-minded companies who share our vision of a world filled with happy pets together with happy people,” HSVB’s Executive Michael Mandel said. “The incredibly generous donations of food and other supplies by Chewy has brought our community and surrounding Florida communities one step closer to achieving that shared vision,” he added.
HSVB’s Director of Operations Maria Ramirez sees Chewy’s gift as a unique partnership that will benefit Florida’s animals and offer peace of mind to their families. “There are so many pet parents who do without in order to feed their pets,” Ramirez revealed. “This incredibly compassionate donation by Chewy will make sure pet parents have one less thing to worry about.”
