“Since 1953 our Humane Society has been committed to ending pet overpopulation in Indian River County,” HSVB’s Director of Operations Maria Ramirez said. “Spaying and neutering our dogs and cats is the single most effective way of ending pet homelessness, cruelty and neglect,” she added.
HSVB is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping and protecting the animals of Indian River County and is located at 6230 77th St., Vero Beach. The shelter’s spay/neuter promotion is being held in honor of World Spay Day, an international day of action created to promote the sterilization of pets and end global pet overpopulation. World Spay Day is an annual event that takes place on the last Tuesday of February.
