United Way of Indian River County Receives $247,500 from Publix Charities
United Way of Indian River County was recently presented a significant check from Publix Charities for $247,500. This donation, known as their annual corporate gift, was only a portion of their contribution this year, which totaled to $587,482 with employee contributions.
“Publix has been one of the greatest supporters in the community. Whether they’re volunteering on a committee, or graciously donating portions of their paychecks, Publix is a constant reminder for us to live united,” said Michael Kint, CEO, United Way of Indian River County.
Brett Tessier, District Manager for Publix Super Markets, and Publix Store Manager Greg Rogolino, were joined with Publix Store Associates and the 2017-2018 United Way Campaign Co-Chairs, Marine Bank and Trust, to present the check.
“Publix Associates and Publix Super Market Charities are proud to support and strengthen the community of Indian River County through our partnership with United Way,” said Nicole Krauss, Media and Community Relations Manager, Publix Super Markets.
The United Way’s annual campaign takes place each year starting in July, and utilizes support from the community and its members to reach its goal. Funds raised during this campaign are used to fund local programming and services. It is because of organizations like Publix, that United Way is able to continue its mission of building a strong, healthy, and caring community. Publix Super Markets has been a 27-year community partner of United Way of Indian River County.
