Democratic Women’s Club to hear from Congressional and Florida House candidates

Candidates for office in upcoming elections will the guests of the Democratic Women’s Club of Indian River County at their June 9 meeting.

Invited to attend:

Sanjay Patel, who is running for the U.S. Congressional District 8 seat. The Satellite Beach activist is a Brevard County Democratic state committeeman. He faces incumbent U.S. Rep. Bill Posey.

Nicole Haagenson, candidate for the Florida House District 54 seat, currently held by Erin Grall. An Air Force veteran, Haagenson is an IT director for a Vero Beach company.

Also invited are three women candidates for Indian River County School Board. They are Mara Schiff, an associate professor at Florida Atlantic University, in District 1; Merchon Green, the founder of a consulting firm and a Gifford community nonprofit, in District 2; and Stacey Klim, a former teacher and current member of two IRC school district committees, in District 4.

The luncheon meeting will be held at Bent Pine Golf Club, 6001 Clubhouse Drive in Vero Beach.

Activities will begin with registration and reception at 11:30 a.m. Following lunch, the candidates will discuss their platforms and answer questions from DWC members and guests.
