The City of Vero Beach Recreation Department will hold Gymnastics and Performing Arts registration on Saturday, June 16 beginning at 8 am at Leisure Square Fitness Center (3705 16th Street). The Space Coast Symphony Orchestra will open their 2018-19 Tenth Anniversary season with On Broadway at 3:00 pm on Sunday, June 17 at the Community Church of Vero Beach, 1901 23rd Street. Selections from the greatest musicals of stage and screen will be represented, including The King and I, Hamilton, Phantom of the Opera, South Pacific, Chicago, Beauty and the Beast and Grease. Featured will be a special suite of music from The Beatles, which includes hits such as “All My Loving,” “All You Need is Love,” “Blackbird,” “Can’t Buy Me Love,” “Come Together,” “If I Fell,” “Lady Madonna,” “Let It Be,” “Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da,” “Something,” “Yesterday,” and more. $25 advance tickets for adults are available through the orchestra website at www.SpaceCoastSymphony.org or at the beachside and mainland branches of Marine Bank & Trust. Beginning on Tuesday, June 19, the Vero Beach Museum of Art is hosting its Summer Sci-Film Series in conjunction with the summer exhibition Astronomy Photographer of the Year. Shows start at 5:30 pm. The line up is: A Space Odyssey (June 19); Moon (June 26); WALL-E (July 10); In the Shadow of the Moon (July 17); and Close Encounters of the Third Kind (July 24). Museum members are free, non-members attend with paid admission to the Museum.
