FIRST FRIDAY GALLERY STROLL
The First Friday Gallery Stroll will be held along and around 14th Avenue in downtown Vero Beach on Friday, October 5 from 5 to 8 pm. Beginning this month, the Trolley will be running a loop through the Art District – hop on board!
Here are the new gallery exhibits: Raw Space Gallery presents Tobias Hayes who will share the creative process behind his latest work – a unique, finely crafted wood and resin door that exquisitely captures the seductive transparency and alluring beauty of the sea.
Gallery 14 features street and mural artist, Christopher Sweeney, in SWEENEY: Spread the Love – A Benefit for the Children’s Home Society Transitional Home. The Artists Guild Gallery is featuring collage works by resident artists. Main Street Vero Beach resident artists will be on hand to share their latest works and guest artist is Carol Bennett. Flametree Clay Gallery features clay pieces by Kim Mayo: Off the wheel and Out of Her Mind.

VERO BEACH’S CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION
Enjoy $1 admission to McKee Botanical Garden, in appreciation of the community’s support of the Garden since 1932 during McKee’s Community Appreciation Days on Friday, October 5th and Saturday, October 6th from 10 am – 5 pm. McKee’s Garden Café, operated by Sealantro, will be open during Community Appreciation Days from 11 am to 3 pm and will feature a special menu. Arrive early! AUTUMN IN THE PARK ON SATURDAY & SUNDAY
The Treasure Coast Pilot Club is hosting “Autumn in the Park” on October 5 & 6 from 9 am to 4 pm. About 4,000 people attend this annual event in Riverside Park to view a wide variety of art and crafts by artists from around the state. There will be food and drink vendors and admission is free!

GENEALOGY SOCIETY MEETING NEXT TUESDAY
The Indian River Genealogical Society meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 9 from 10 am to noon at the Indian River County Main Library. The topic, I Know It’s There, But I Just Can’t Find It! Secret Search Strategies will be presented by Debbie Duay, Ph.D. who will cover key strategies for effectively searching Google, Ancestry.com, FamilySearch, Rootsweb’s WorldConnect Project, and the DAR databases.
