On Thursday Dec 6th, the Gifford Youth Orchestra held a fundraising event at the Garden Club of Indian River County. The “Stars” of the GYO entertained in small groups to donors and potential donors and supporters for over 2 hours, and board members mingling to answer anyone’s questions about how “More Violins Less Violence” works giving Executive Director Crystal Bujol the opportunity to talk to everyone there. All in all with tickets, donations, silent auction sales over $8,000 was raised to help offset some scholarship costs ($1900 per student).

Helping to keep the costs down, Sunrise Rotary of Vero Beach Girls Night Out group catered, served and cleaned up with Marty Lewis of Sunrise Rotary of Vero Beach took the evenings’ photos and Bill Edelstein of the same club brought his generator powered lights to keep the parking lot safe.
