The film which will be shown by the Friends of the North Indian River County Library on Thursday, April 18 at 2 pm, takes the viewer to the beautiful country of Switzerland. Join Brianna Barnes as she travels from French-speaking Geneva, visits Charlie Chaplin’s house in Vevey, hikes Gemini Pass, travels to Interlaken, Bern, Lake Lucerne, and then heads back to the Alps at Devil’s Bridge, and on to Andermatt and Chur. She visits Zurich, the capital city, and ends her journey in Appenzell, where cattle are herded down from alpine pastures by yodeling farmers. Free.

Community Church of Vero Beach’s Good Friday Service on Friday, April 19, at 7 pm features Francis Poulenc’s Stabat Mater written for the death of his dear friend, painter Christian Jacques Bérard. The Stabat Mater will feature soprano, Rachel Carter, choir and orchestra; and The Fauré Requiem, one of the most regularly performed works of the French repertoire. Gabriel Fauré composed the piece with a focus on peace, eternal rest, and consolation. A Free will offering will be accepted.
