The Veterans Council of Indian River County’s Memorial Day Ceremony will be on Monday, May 27 at 9 am at Veteran’s Memorial Island Sanctuary. Bring a lawn chair and plan to arrive early. In the case of inclement weather, the ceremonies will be held at the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center. On Memorial Day, visit the Navy SEAL Museum in Fort Pierce at the Memorial Wall to honor those who have sacrificed all in service to country. Open to the public and free of charge, the Memorial Day Ceremony begins at 9:00 am, following the Flag Retirement Ceremony at 8:00 am. The Museum’s special Memorial Day hours will be 9 am to Noon. There is no admission fee to enter the Museum on Memorial Day.

They will begin with songs of praise, like The Awakening and Fanfare as well as How Can I keep From Singing, a traditional American anthem. There will also be several medleys from famous long-running Broadway musicals. They include The Music Man, The Sound of Music and The Phantom of the Opera.
