The Vero Beach Elks Lodge,1350 26 Street is having a Memorial Day BBQ of boneless pork ribs, baked beans, potato salad and corn on cob on Monday, May 27 beginning at 4 pm. Enjoy music by the  Groovin Ground Hogs from 5 – 8 pm.  The cost is $10 per person. For reservations call 772-562-8450 after 1 pm.

The Veterans Council of Indian River County’s Memorial Day Ceremony will be on Monday, May 27 at 9 am at Veteran’s Memorial Island Sanctuary.  Bring a lawn chair and plan to arrive early.   In the case of inclement weather, the ceremonies will be held at the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center. On Memorial Day, visit the Navy SEAL Museum in Fort Pierce at the Memorial Wall to honor those who have sacrificed all in service to country. Open to the public and free of charge, the Memorial Day Ceremony begins at 9:00 am, following the Flag Retirement Ceremony at 8:00 am.  The Museum’s special Memorial Day hours will be 9 am to Noon.  There is no admission fee to enter the Museum on Memorial Day.

THURSDAY, MAY 30 – SATURDAY, JUNE 1

Riverside Theatre For Kids:  Junie B. Jones, the Musical.  Based on the popular children’s book series written by Barbara Park, Junie B. Jones, The Musical follows Junie on her first day of first grade and the new adventures that await including: making friends on the bus with the new kid at school, thinking she needs glasses when she can’t see the blackboard in class, meeting the friendly cafeteria lady, a kickball tournament and the “Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal.” With fun-filled songs written by Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich, Junie B. FRIDAY, MAY 31

Main Street Vero Beach presents Downtown Friday on May 31 from 6 to 9 pm on 14th Avenue in Vero Beach.  This street party features live music, demonstrations during band breaks, street vendors, and food vendors. This event is FREE to attend and is family and dog friendly.

SATURDAY, JUNE 1

Join H.A.L.O. on Saturday, June 1 between 11 am and 4 pm for “Artisans at the Mall” at the Indian River Mall featuring talented vendors with an amazing variety of hand-crafted items.  There will be  kid’s activities and make sure to stop by the Raffle Donation Station located outside of the H.A.L.O. Mall Adoption Center. Stop in and say hello to the adorable kittens and cats. Be sure to ask about the adoption specials!

SUNDAY, JUNE 2

The Treasure Coast Chorale presents  Let Music Live, a concert of the most beautiful songs from several genres on Sunday, June 2 at 4 pm at First Baptist Church of Vero Beach.  They will begin with songs of praise, like The Awakening and Fanfare as well as How Can I keep From Singing, a traditional American anthem. There will also be several medleys from famous long-running Broadway musicals. They include The Music Man, The Sound of Music and The Phantom of the Opera.
