Believe it or not, here’s a tropics update

This is an important message from ALERT Indian River

The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a tropical disturbance over the southern Bahamas and conditions are becoming favorable for a tropical depression or a tropical storm to form today or Friday as it moves towards the Florida Peninsula. The National Hurricane Center is indicating a high chance of development over the next 48 hours.  There is an increasing threat for periods of heavy rainfall and windy conditions later Friday into late Saturday for east central Florida.  Potential Tropical Cyclone advisories could be needed later today or Friday and you are encouraged to monitor the progress of this disturbance.  The next name of the 2019 Atlantic hurricane list is Humberto.
