In appreciation of the community’s support of McKee since 1932, admission to the Garden is only $1 during McKee’s Community Appreciation Day on Saturday, September 21, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The last admission ticket will be sold at 4:00 pm.
During this one-day event, visitors can take advantage of a special $10 discount for an annual membership to McKee. As a member, you will enjoy free admission to both the Garden and the new Children’s Garden once it opens, special admission privileges at 320 Gardens throughout North America, invitations to our exclusive member-only events, advance notice of special events, lectures and workshops, a 10% discount in our Garden Gift & Book Shop and Garden Café, and the Garden newsletter.
McKee Botanical Garden’s unique 18-acre tropical hammock supports a dense and diverse botanical collection featuring 10,000 native and tropical plants as well as one of the largest waterlily collections in the state of Florida comprised of nearly 500 plants. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and endorsed by the Garden Conservancy, our restored architectural treasures add to the cultural significance this of this celebrated landmark.
McKee, known for its award-wining exhibitions, annual events, and educational workshops for adults and children, has garnered national attention in publications such as Better Homes and Gardens, Coastal Living, House and Garden, Southern Living, The New York Times, and Orlando Sentinel. The Garden was named one of “22 Secret Gardens – Soothing Places of Surprise and Sanctuary in the U.S. and Canada” by National Geographic Traveler and was recognized as one of the “Top 10 Most Beautiful Gardens That Florida Has to Offer” by TripsToDiscover.com. In 2018, Coastal Living recognized McKee as “One of the Top Ten Most Romantic Places in Florida.”
In 2019, McKee Botanical Garden received the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence Hall of Fame Award. McKee qualified for this award by receiving a Certificate of Excellence for each of the past five years. This award was a result of positive reviews posted on TripAdvisor.com from our members and visitors.
The Garden Café will not be open during this event.
