Noted art critic Ellen Fischer will get behind the images of art photographer Allan Teger as she talks with him about his surrealist pictures Thursday (Dec. 12) at the Center for Spiritual Care at 6:30 p.m. The discussion will focus on Teger’s exhibition, at the Center through Dec. 27.
Teger. who received his first camera when he was 13, is a former professor of psychology at the Universities of Pennsylvania and Boston. He gave up his academic career to concentrate on what until then had been an all-consuming hobby.
Fischer is one of the most highly respected art commentators in South Central Florida. With an MFA from the Chicago Art Institute, she has been curator of collections at the Vero Beach and the Greater Lafayette Museums of Art. She directed the Harvey Littleton Collection in Ft. Pierce for many years.
The encounter is part of a season-long series that will see Fischer talking with exhibiting artists including Barbara Rowles, Elise Geary, Sean Sexton, Michael Kemp, and Lisa Lugo.
The Center is located at 1550 24th St., two blocks north of the Main Library.
